Business: Global Private Banking Open positions: 1 Role Title: AVP - Credit Advisory Support -GSC’S Global career Band:5 Location (Country/city)- India-Banglore Recruiter Name: Kalim uddin Why Join us: The Credit Advisory Team is responsible for the origination, execution and management of Lending Products within HSBC Private Bank and Wealth. For the Global Private Bank, Credit Advisory supports client and Net New Money acquisition by providing: Lombard Lending; Bespoke / Structured financing; Real Estate financing; Life Insurance Financing; and Trophy Asset financing. Lending will be one of the key products used to drive growth within the Global Private Bank over the next five years. The Opportunity Provide support to the Credit Advisory teams based in Hong Kong and Singapore which will assist in the origination, execution and management of the Credit Products and Portfolio. This is the fastest growing region for Wealth Management individuals globally and significant expansion in the Loan Book is forecast in the coming years. .
What you will do: Responsibilities will include: The Credit Advisory Support Officer will be a non-client facing position whose main responsibility will be to support the Regional Credit Advisory teams by:

  • Monitoring the existing credit facilities, ensuring compliance with approval conditions, documented covenants and financial reporting requirements on a daily basis.
  • Handle enquiries and provide support to Regional Credit Advisory teams. Provide suitable solutions to ensure the performance of credit facilities.
  • Preparing and / or providing support in the preparation of credit applications for new and existing credit facilities under the supervision of the Regional Credit Advisory teams.
  • Ensuring implementation and control of approved facilities in the credit systems.
  • Actively work to maintain and improve the credit portfolio quality and prevent loss.
  • Preparation of management information reporting on a periodic basis for internal and regulatory purposes.
  • Preparation of ad-hoc presentations as required by the Regional Credit Advisory teams
  • Proactively identify gaps and report any irregularity to relevant stakeholder.
  • Adherence to all regulatory and HSBC Group controls in line with published guidelines.
  • Demonstrate expected core behaviours and values including teamwork, focus, drive and determination.
  • Maintains a thorough understanding of the content and aggregate risks within an assigned collateral, trends and other KRIs
  • Establish and maintain an excellent working relationship with Credit Advisors and colleagues across the Group. Liaise with internal clients to ensure that their expectations are met in a timely manner and understood
  • Underwrite all supporting requests related to credit applications and annual reviews on a timely basis
  • Monitor and manage portfolio risk and meet the KRI standards
  • Ability to quickly assess and understand changes in client strategy, risk exposure, Group’s guidelines as well as industry and competitor dynamics vis-à-vis credit products and solutions
  • Is aware of the Operational Risk scenario associated with the role and acts in a manner that takes account of operational risk considerations

Requirements
What you will need to succeed in the role:
  • University degree in a relevant business discipline (e.g. Economics or a related field), ideally with a minimum of three years of working experience. (M)
  • Strong knowledge of Credit Advisory as well as the GPB Business. (E)
  • Demonstrate strong credit analysis ability and knowledge of lending products and Private Banking business. (E)
  • Good sense of judgment along with strong planning, organization, project and time management skills, as well as a customer-centric mindset and strong attention to detail. (E)
  • Motivated with agility and creativity; able to work independently and efficiently, and manage multiple items simultaneously under tight timeframes. (E)
  • Strong quantitative skills, that can be translated to into MS Excel and Powerpoint. Previous experience of financial data software such as Bloomberg. (M)
  • Good interpersonal skills and being able to collaborated effectively with internal stakeholders. (D)
  • Excellent communication and writing skills; proficiency in English is required. (M)
