Job description Business: AMG - Asset Management Group Open positions: 1 Role Title: Assistant Manager- AMG Middle office Operations, GSC\'s Global Career Band: 7 Location (Country / City ) : Bangalore Recruiter Name : Jamal Unnisa Begum Why join us The Global Asset Management, Bangalore Office team reconciliation team is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of cash inflows/outflows and ensure certainty of positions i.e cash and positions which is provided to Portfolio Managers and Investment teams on a daily basis. The team reconciles the Front Office Book of Records vs the Investment Book of Records using SSR TLM and resolves any exception based on predefined rules. The team will also play a coordinator role with the local offices and stakeholders who will be responsible for resolving outstanding issues. . The role encompasses stakeholder management, execution of daily BAU tasks, and execution of organization strategy. The Opportunity: Impact on the Business/Function [COMPLETE 3-4 AREAS] The Reconciliations\' team is responsible to ensure that positions and cash data is accurate for the business at the SOD for the Front Office. This will ensure that the Investment Management teams will have the most accurate data to invest. Accurate positions and cash data would minimize the risk of team will be using follow-the-sun model to ensure that unresolved exceptions are managed by the local operations team. Drive quality service and perform the middle office operations effectively Identify and implement continuous improvements on processing control, quality and efficiency Ensure operations are in compliance to both FIM and regulatory requirements.Implement rectifications whenever necessary Drive customer service centric approach and establish positive working relationship with stakeholders and customers Timely escalation of issues to Management Enhance synergy and efficiency Share the best practice across teams Errors raised by Front office due to incorrect reconciliation. Customers / Stakeholders [COMPLETE 3-4 AREAS] Front Office teams i.e traders, fund managers, portfolio managers and dealing team will be primary beneficiaries of the process. Other key support in the ecosystem are the Settlements, Cash Management and local reconciliation teams. The teams will assist in responding to queries raised by the Bangalore Office. Front office feedback and internal feed back. Leadership & Teamwork [COMPLETE 3-4 AREAS] All outstanding exception in TLM should be communicated to stakeholders on a timely basis and accurately. Follow-up should also be undertaken to ensure that there are no ageing exceptions. The role would require that adequate process training and regular feedback sessions to new joiners at Analyst level Cultivate an environment that supports diversity. Understand the impact of cash on upstream and downstream stakeholders Ability to identify and implement business process improvement discipline Technical and process improvement mindset to identify and drive improvements Regularly review all pre-defined rules and review repetitive exceptions. Ensure all governance related activities and functions are implemented and reviewed. Ensure FIM framework from an Operations risk perspective is implemented locally. Identifying opportunities for process improvement and champion continuous improvement within the team Identifying and managing and mitigating operational risks, and ensuring adherence to all regulatory requirements Reconciliation must be completed and reports / breaks notified to the appropriate recipients by 07:00 local What you\'ll do: Major Challenges The team is being ground-up. During the initial phase there will be multiple challenges as the project transitions into a BAU process. Activities and governance initiatives will need to be designed and implemented along with the global project teams. Role Context We are seeking exceptionally intelligent, resourceful, and self-motivated individual to be a part of this team. The individual will be part of a dynamic team that is responsible for responsible for the publishing of cash balances and positions that launches the investment process each day, any cash related queries from Portfolio Managers regarding cash balances, and the investigation and clearance of cash or position exceptions. You will contribute to the development of your team members through coaching and mentoring and providing feedback to ensure high levels of performance. Management of Risk The jobholder will also continually reassess the operational risks associated with the role and inherent in the business, taking account of changing economic or market conditions, legal and regulatory requirements, operating procedures and practices, management restructurings, and the impact of new technology. This will be achieved by ensuring all actions take account of the likelihood of operational risk occurring. Also by addressing any areas of concern in conjunction with line management and/or the appropriate department. Relevant of key regulatory processes is also mandatory. Observation of Internal Controls The jobholder will also adhere to and be able to demonstrate adherence to internal controls. This will be achieved by adherence to all relevant procedures, keeping appropriate records and, where appropriate, by the timely implementation of internal and external audit points, including issues raised by external regulators. The jobholder will implement the Group compliance policy by containing compliance risk in liaison with Global Head of Compliance, Global Compliance Officer, Area Compliance Officer or Local Compliance Officer. The term \'compliance\' embraces all relevant financial services laws, rules and codes with which the business has to comply. This will be achieved by adhering to all relevant processes/procedures and by liaising with Compliance department about new business initiatives at the earliest opportunity. Also and when applicable, by ensuring adequate resources are in place and training is provided, fostering a compliance culture and optimising relations with regulators. Requirements What you will need to succeed in the role: 4 to 6 years\' experience in TLM Reconciliations is mandatory and an understanding of the Asset management business is preferred Understanding of the various asset classes, underlying instruments is mandatory and the trade life-cycle needs to be exhibited. Prior experience on SSR TLM is mandatory. Understanding and reviewing of matching rules, data flows and exceptions management skill needs to be exhibited. Analytical thinking, attention to detail and an ability to follow a disciplined research process is critical for the role Risk and internal controls experience is preferred The partner should be a team player, strong organizational and time management skills, flexible approach to duties and hours of work and should have worked with varied stakeholders.
