Job description Business: Global Personal Account Dealings Open positions: 1 Role Title: Assistant Manager, Personal Account Dealing Operations, RC Operations Global Career Band: 7 Location (Country/city)- Bangalore Recruiter Name: Jaisey The Opportunity: The Offshore Compliance team supports compliance officers across All Lines of Businesses in carrying out key compliance monitoring, advisory and support activities. The Personal Account Dealing team currently supports onshore Compliance offices and the LOBs Globally. The purpose is to undertake the monitoring of HSBC Group Staff\'s \'personal investment activities whilst ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and policies. What you\'ll do: (List out Key Responsibilities): Principal Accountabilities: Key activities and decision making areas Impact on the Business/Function Review staff personal dealing transaction records and check whether necessary prior approvals have been obtained for the transactions Review transaction records on dealing account statements, contract notes and staff dealing reportand check whether necessary approvals are obtained for the transactions Report violations/breaches to onshore compliance teams Training and supervisory responsibility for growth in monitoring function Review declaration of personal dealing accounts, shareholdings from new employees and issue consent letter if necessary Emphasis to be given on improving the efficiency of the monitoring Typical Targets and Measures Responsibility for performing the required checks as per the TAT and escalating suspicious cases Responsibility to accurately checking the trade viz a viz approval date so as to identify breaches (if any) Responsibility for quality / assurance checking - team\'s work to be reviewed periodically No reputational losses for the team (in case any wrong email of breach/violations are sent) Customers / Stakeholders Ongoing expectations of business partners to be met consistently Manage and oversee expansion of PAD process to other regions and businesses Monitor and ensure adherence to agreed performance levels Participate in incremental work migration activities Typical Targets and Measures Responsibility for accurately populating the exception/violations report Responsibility for reviewing and ensuring circulation of up to date MI To create confidence among the new business regions to offshore work Analyze and interpret the MI and take actions with advice from Business Partners Support in preparation of migration Leadership & Teamwork Ability to act proactively and multitask Desire to pass on skills for the good of the team and learn from the other team members Self - motivated, enthusiastic and proven rapid learning capability Actively participate in team meetings. Bringing solutions / suggestions / recommendations to the table Ability to work unsupervised and prioritizing efficiently Typical Targets and Measures Be able to integrate into an existing close team and open for sharing knowledge with the new joiners or juniors Effective contribution in team meetings and business calls Be open to feedback and highlight areas of improvement / self-improvement Ideas to improve the team synergy Operational Effectiveness & Control Implement best practice improvements Identify gaps in process documentation and address those effectively Periodical up gradation of the Personal Account Dealing Rules Widening the scope of the PAD into different asset classes Maintain the trade log, declaration log etc. and track progress in a timely manner Informing the staffs about the change in the monitoring scope Ability to support decisions with sound reasoning Typical Targets and Measures Identify process improvements. Discuss these with the Business Partner for implementation Identify best practices across various geographies and effectively disseminate these to others Validate current procedure manuals and improve where required Scope of monitoring to a larger audience / staffs Major Challenges (The challenges inherent in the role that require a continual test of the role holder\'s abilities) Streamlining procedures and including a four-eye process for the PAD offshored process Identifying inconsistencies in processes and implementing best-fit solutions Maintaining updated procedure manuals, Personal Account Dealing Rules and FAQ\'s Being constantly updated with business changes, regulatory changes and cascading the relevance of these changes to the offshore team and the procedures Educating the staffs regarding changes in the scope of monitoring Engage with IT on a regular basis, to incorporate the changes in the existing tools used for monitoring Increasing visibility and face time with key stakeholders . Role context Deliver a high performance (client service, behavioral expectations) Provide highly professional, competent and skilled service to the Businesses Take decisions based on your knowledge and experience Think proactively and come up with ideas for enhancements Escalate, where necessary to direct line management and Senior Compliance managers Management of Risk (Operational Risk / FIM requirements) Be aware of the Operational risk and act in a manner that takes account of operational risk considerations Proactively alert business of highest perceived risks as they arise Observation of Internal Controls Maintains HSBC internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators. To assist in the discharge of accountabilities set out in the Legal & Compliance FIM by proactively assisting Compliance Managers in their responsibilities to assist management in identifying and containing compliance risk, monitoring, reporting and certification, fostering a compliance culture and optimizing relations with regulators Role Dimensions Manage Personal Account Dealing migrated work to Bangalore and ensure that the services provided to them are up to mark Create confidence and trust in new business regions to offshore their work to Bangalore Requirements What you will need to succeed in the role: Strong interpersonal skills and experience of working effectively within a small team Ability to manage data from various systems Good knowledge of Excel and other MS Office applications are preferred Experience in compliance / audit monitoring or related environment would be an added advantage Knowledge of financial markets and in particular, financial instruments Experience in Staff Dealing monitoring / oversight or related environment is preferable Knowledge of the Bloomberg terminal is preferable Ability to understand financial products, trading types and analyse these for the detection of potential Market Abuse Ability to work under pressure and within tight time-lines. Excellent time management and prioritisation of work tasks Ability to handle escalated issues and take these forward with Senior Management Ability to support decisions with sound reasoning.
