• This position will be responsible for leading a team for safety engineers in the vehicle and eMobility business and implementing strategies focused around Design for Safety for Eaton products. The core responsibilities of this position:
• Responsibility to grow & create vaule for New Technology Introduction (NTI), New Product Introduction (NPI) product performance by implementation of design for safety and safety risks reductions
• Responsible for Design for safety sign-off on the complex Vehicle and eMobility projects by driving leading Design for Safety i.e. Identifying, managing and mitigating safety risks.
• Responsible to coordinate the safety assessment needs of big bet programs of Vehcile & eMobility business by working collaboratively with internal teams as well as design engineering teams.
• Build Organization Capabilities - Hire right talent and development existing talent in line with Eaton's needs in the area for Automotive functional safety
• Manage a team of day-to-day operations, performance evaluations, career coaching for a talented team of safety engineers.
• Provides project, process, and technical leadership in area of Design for safety for Vehicle & eMobility products. Mentor fellow team members to deliver their projects. Assist in enhancing the engineering maturity model for team in RMS. Assist in planning and implementing technology road map (Safety related items) for RMS

Qualifications

Requirement:

• Provide leadership to improvise functional safety methods to manage and mitigate safety risks.
• Drive growth in respective team in terms of breadth and depth of capabilities in functional safety.
• Manage diverse team and provides leadership for the team to meet its short and long term goals.
• Lead strategic initiatives to improve the timelines and quality of deliverables.
• Develop and control the schedule and direct the work in order to effectively manage time.
• Synergies and leverage engineering capabilities across other CoE's.
• Provide leadership, coaching, and mentoring for safety engineers. Recruits and retain a team of engineers and support staff to provide both local product development and engineering services to the global engineering needs. Train, develop & motivate subordinates to achieve their professional goals & review their accomplishments.
• Manages department budget and performance to forecast.
• Champion deployment of DFSS, DMAIC and Safety practitioner program at EIIC. Drive Functional excellence through Continuous improvement using CI methodology
• Understand stakeholder requirements and communicate them to other Eaton teams, and act as the liaison for program activities as appropriate.
