Job Description

Position Purpose:

Pfizer has established a chief digital office which will lead the transformation of Pfizer into a digital powerhouse that will generate superior patient experiences that will result in better health outcomes.

The Enterprise Data Solutions and Engineering (EDSE) team, within the Chief Digital Office, is responsible for the development and management of all data and analytic tools and platforms across the enterprise - from manufacturing to global product development and for all Pfizer countries. One of the team's top priorities is the development of an enterprise data lake and data solutions which will serve as the engine for the company's digital transformation.

As a member of the EDSE Asia Pacific (APAC) team, this Manager position has responsibility within the APAC region or as needed globally to:

Lead the engineering, design and development of Business Intelligence (BI), data management, reporting and advanced analytics solutions; Collaborate with the EDSE colleagues for successful design, implementation, and delivery of multiple projects; Perform hands on development of BI solutions or manage solution design delivery from third party partners/vendors; Collaborate with the EDSE team, project client (typically a Pfizer business unit or enabling function) and Digital business facing client partners; Provide thought leadership to drive BI innovation and new ways of working; and Partner with other teams to advance BI capabilities.

The position is part of a team where teamwork is paramount and involves working closely with the EDSE team, and other Digital organizations, to provide our colleagues with trusted and innovative solutions that empower them to draw business insights from data, to improve patient lives, deliver new medicines and pioneering care for the people who rely on us.

At times, this position will require independent working and management of third party partners/vendors within the portfolio of assigned projects, to engineer and implement high quality solutions to uncover insights with real business value in alignment with Pfizer's and the region's business and technology strategies.

Primary Responsibilities:

Manage and be responsible for the technical design and technical implementation of multiple smaller or large complex Business Intelligence (BI), data management, reporting artificial intelligence (AI) and advanced analytics projects in region, that maximise the value from data in answering business questions that accelerate the building of a healthier world and improve patient lives.

Responsible for technical planning, data & architecture design, data modelling, technical implementation, solution development, and the communication of technical progress to key stakeholders.

Work with the business, Digital stakeholders and partners/vendors to capture key requirements, translate them into projects in alignment using Pfizer's approved standards & architecture and seek approval for projects following the standard governance processes. Where appropriate, conduct prototyping and innovation sessions.

Work collaboratively with EDSE Platform team for platform and infrastructure enablement, including platform/tool selections, architecture, estimation and technical solution design.

Work collaboratively with the Service Operations, Solution Delivery, Platform, AI teams and other Digital teams to deliver viable Business Intelligence technical solutions through building relationships.

Serve as the first technical escalation and resolution point for all engineering phases of assigned projects.

Maintain solid customer engagement with key stakeholders, including business, enabling functions and Digital colleagues.

Assist in the creation of thought leadership materials to drive BI innovation and technical roadmaps.

Partner with other enabling functions (e.g. Biopharma Operations teams) to advance BI capabilities in the region.

Education & Experience:

Bachelor's degree required, advanced degree preferred, with preference for degree holders with a focus in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or equivalent project-related experience

5-8 years of BI solution engineering experience in large organizations, engineering multiple smaller or large/complex projects

5+ years of related work experience in commercial data and analytics with business acumen and a proven track record of successfully delivering projects and outcomes

Significant experience in engineering Business Intelligence (BI), data warehousing, reporting, big data, advanced analytics & Artificial Intelligence (AI) solutions in large organizations, both in traditional waterfall and agile approaches

Must have strong technical skills, ideally from a hands-on engineering / IT background and ability to leverage this experience to define and deliver projects in an agile environment leading to faster, better and cost-effective outcomes is a key differentiator

Must be willing to wear many hats and demonstrate leadership; from project planning, to solution architecture, development and deployment to resource allocation

Expertise in deploying data management and BI solution using traditional data management and BI technology stacks (Informatica, Business Objects, Oracle, Tableau, Microsoft SQL, etc..)

Knowledgeable of cloud based architectures, cloud analytics products / solutions, and agile methodologies to enable rapid cycles of development and release of analytics and data products / solutions such as MicroStrategy, Snowflake, AWS

Experience with technical solution management tools such as JIRA, Jenkin, Github

Experience of management consultancy is preferable

Experience in developing and socialising business cases with both technical and non-technical audiences

Exceptional verbal, written communication and organizational skills, along with interpersonal skills that allow for collaboration across a diverse group of people

Data Visualization & Reporting (MicroStrategy, Tableau, SAP Business Objects)

AWS Cloud based infrastructure

Data Integration techniques and practices

Information Architecture & Data Governance

Master Data Management

Future customer, industry and information technology trends

Occasional travel may be required
