Roles and Responsibilities We are seeking a highly motivated Ceramics/Materials Engineer for Technology team for Graphite/Fused Silica/Insulation materials used for growing single crystal silicon. The successful candidate will join a skilled and motivated team in supporting current capabilities, developing new processes, and implementing new technologies in production. There will be extensive interaction between research and development, engineering, plant management, and production of new products and new processes, and for ongoing improvement of the new manufacturing processes and their efficiency. The engineer should be analytical and must be able to design experiments and provide statistical analysis of those trials as to effectiveness
Responsibilities
Characterization of graphite and quartz crucibles samples for both incoming and post run.
Develop and optimize graphite and crucible properties for high yield in crystal processes.
Communicating characterization data to crystal process engineering teams.
Work with crucible and graphite vendors as required for technical collaboration and improving quality of these raw materials.
Support manufacturing operations in capacity expansion, process/capability development for new materials and supplier qualification while maintaining quality and meeting product specifications
Develop root cause failure analysis for performance issues related to graphite/insulations and quartz crucibles.
Develop innovative crucible coating technology for improved yield in silicon crystal growth
Provide engineering solutions through data analysis to support quality assurance, customer complaint evaluations, process improvements, and problem troubleshooting
Provide feedback to Supply chain on incoming quality issues of the graphite/insulation and crucibles.
Maintain the data base for incoming quality of raw materials.
Run data analysis to establish correlation studies for the impact of graphite/insulation/quartz materials on the final throughput and yield of single crystal silicon ingots.
Run the vacuum furnace in the technology lab to conduct research and development experiments.
