About the department

Global IT India was established in February 2010 as an integral part of Global IT in HQ. From the beginning in 2010, the unit has grown to 500+ employees till date. The main role of Global IT India is to 'manage' IT, which includes System Management, Project Management, Infrastructure Management, Compliance Management, Security Management, Process Management and Vendor Management. The position is based in the Major Incident Management department in Bangalore anchored in the Operational Excellence Product Team under the Service Desk & IT Support (SDITS) product area in Global IT Operations (GITO) organization. The team consists of colleagues located in India and Denmark and the position provides an opportunity to work with global stakeholders across Novo Nordisk.

The Position

As a Major Incident Manager - Advanced Business Analyst II you will be responsible to fulfil the following duties:

  • Leading, driving, facilitating and chairing all investigation activities, meetings, and conference calls related to major incidents. Responsible for ensuring that all tasks are executed in compliance with internal and external regulations, quality requirement and completed according to the agreed objectives.
  • Engagement of necessary resolver team to restore services. MI communications to be sent on a timely manner to all concerned stake holders. Follow up with Vendors or System Managers for the MI Report after MI resolution. Responsible for keeping Major Incident/Disaster recovery documents and Contact lists updated.
  • Ability to take charge of Incidents and taskforces, keep the overview in heated situations and being able to take decisions, knowing that thousands of users depend on you.
  • As being the central team to manage major incidents it is required that all employees in Major Incident teamwork in a 24 x 7 setup.
  • Responsible for driving improvement in the Major Incident Management area by actively taking part of the Agile PI planning events. Responsible for streamlining the existing Major Incident Management process
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or relevant technology experience with technical certification (Software Engineering or Computer Science preferred)
  • Minimum 8+ years of experience in IT.
  • Minimum 6+ years of hands-on experience in Incident and Problem Management
  • Experiences in Disaster Recovery and Major Incident Handling
  • Good understanding of ITIL processes
  • Good knowledge on Change and Release Management
  • Good knowledge of Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
  • Proficiency in English with very good command on communication and excellent cross-organization collaboration skills.
  • Self-managed, strong personal drive.
  • Ability to collaborate and communicate with stakeholders, both internal and external at all levels
  • High cultural sensitivity and comfortable working with different countries and cultures across multiple time-zone
