Virtual Desktop Infra (VDI) - Profile

Job description:

Regional Level3 Virtual Workspace Engineer (VMware Horizon administrator) will be responsible for end-to-end support of VMware Horizon environment that includes AppSense Ivanti, Lakeside Systrack in Citi\xe2\x80\x99s world class Virtual Workspace platforms. This role will provide standard request fulfillment, incident, problem management, change management and environment maintenance in support of the Virtual Workspace platforms.

Responsibilities include:

• Serves as an SME and highest tier of support for Citi\xe2\x80\x99s VDI Level 3 support.
• Deploy applications using Automation delivery mechanisms, Patching, Maintaining Golden Images.
• Participates in strategic product and technology decisions in support of Citi\xe2\x80\x99s workspace requirements.
• Collaborates with partners from technology vendors to influence vendor product roadmaps in line with Citi strategic goals.
• Provides technical expertise to implement the solutions from Engineering and Peer Technology Teams.
• Create and maintain system documentation for updates made to the infrastructure environment
• Develop and maintain scripted and automated tools for the management and monitoring.
• Maintain reliable, secure, and high performing systems in a multi-domain, multi-site Windows Active Directory environment that consists of DELL servers, EMC storage arrays, VMware vSphere, Windows 2012/2016 servers.

Requirements/Skills

• Bachelor\'s degree or equivalent experience in computer science, math, business management, or a related field, typically obtained by 8+ years of experience in large IT environments
• Demonstrated expertise in delivering Virtual Desktop Computing solutions with a history of contribution to large and highly complex projects.
• Candidate should possess strong communication skills and be able to work in virtual teams outside of his or her organization. This person should have the ability to lead such a team and provide results based on technical knowledge and the ability to influence others.
• Must have 8+ years of experience working with Virtual Desktop Computing.
• Administration of VMWare Horizon View, Linked Clones and Persistent Clones
• Capacity and Demand management and optimization.
• Experience with Microsoft virtualization technologies including RDS, AppV,
• AppSense (Ivanti) Suite, PowerShell scripting, or similar policy and configuration management solutions
• Monitoring and Management of Virtual Desktops, Systrack, DPA etc.
• Storage and Performance optimization.
• Experience with VMWare Esxi, VMWare vCenter, SSO, VMWare UAG, F5 APM, NetScaler and other reverse\\session proxy solutions are added advantage.
• Has in-depth knowledge of how technology integrates within the organization and industry trends of products and services in area of responsibility.
• Requires evaluative judgment based on analysis of information in complicated or novel situations; uses multiple sources of information.
• Ability to present technical and business concepts across a varied audience.

Education:

• Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree/University degree or equivalent experience
