  • To lead Legal department effectively and efficiently to achieve the goals, expectation of Top Management in terms of TAT disposal etc.
  • Review, Revise and Renew policy guidelines and implement in consultation with Top Management.
  • Effectively monitoring and handling of all cases pertaining to Arbitration, court cases, court orders, consumer forums, other litigations etc. You will guide, more particularly, in preparing of suit applications, additional filings, plaints etc. You will represent on behalf of the bank in various courts.
  • Managing empanelment of advocates with the Bank. Regularly monitoring the performance of the penal and guiding them to expedite the legal matters of the bank. Keep close liasioning with penal advocates.
  • Guide recovery team for filing suits / appeals for recovery, legal proceedings etc. within the stipulated time wherever applicable.
  • Providing guidance to authorized officer in implementing provisions of SARFAESI Act like approval of notices, Obtention of Panchnama for taking possession etc.
  • Supervise in-house Mortgage work for Ahmedabad city branches and ensure fast TAT.
  • Vetting and drafting (if required) of Documents i.e. Agreement To Sale, Sale Deed & other legal Documents/Deeds of Outside agency.
  • Verification of reply, rejoinders filed before Statutory Arbitrator to expedite Arbitration Proceedings.
  • Giving timely advice / opinion to Branches / Head office Departments in legal matters referred by them.
  • Advising on legal issues pertaining to business development and banking operations matters including vetting of contracts, agreements etc.
  • Prepare and submit monthly report of department to the Top Management of the Bank and Board.
  • Ensure submission of various regulatory / statutory reports including fraud reporting etc.
  • Play a role of mentor for the team members for skills development.
