About Our Client
Our client is leading MNC specialising in maritime services and ship operations management. They are looking for a Legal Counsel in India to be based out of Mumbai.
Reporting into the General Counsel based out of the APAC regional headquarters, you shall be responsible for :
Reviewing, negotiating and finalising procurement agreements and business/ commercial contracts such as Ship man, New Building Supervision Contracts, and Crewman and miscellaneous contracts such as service agreements and software licensing agreements
Managing Dispute and conducting external counsel
Ensuring compliance with Indian and global data privacy laws. This involves coordinating with the Data Protection Officers
Supporting India HR team on compliance with Indian employment laws
Utilising excellent legal training combined with stakeholder management to manage transactions from start to finish.
Giving an extraordinary level of exposure to business/ commercial decisions.
Supporting the Group Legal Counsel in any assistance needed by the other lines of business owned by the group companies.
Working closely with key functions and various stakeholders in teams such business development, procurement, IT and HR
The Successful Applicant
Ideally you are a LLB graduate from a Tier 1 Law school and with PQE of 7-10 years with few years spent in law firms. You should have General Corporate experience with ability to independently draft and negotiate contracts. You should have excellent stakeholder management skills. You should be great in identification and mitigation of legal risks. You should have excellent communication skills and should be ready to take a challenging assignment in this organisation.
