The Role: Lead Research Analyst.

Grade: 11

The Team: Bond Reference Data offers reference data cutting across assets classes such as bonds, loans, equity, CDS. The Reference Data product services internal clients as well as external clients and is focused on developing a suite of Reference Data offerings for the broader marketplace.

The Impact: Municipal Reference Data is a growing product within its Reference Data offering. With cutting edge technologies and domain expertise S&P Global delivers deep terms and conditions data and new issue information for US municipal bonds.

What\'s in it for you: The successful candidate will form a key part of the Municipal Reference Data team responsible for maintaining the smooth running of the day-to-day operations of S&P\'s Municipal bonds product and services as well as supporting the questions and requests of our internal and external clients. Working closely with other functions within the wider global team of product management, business analysts, technology and testing, the role will need to constantly engage in the improvement and enhancement of the Municipal Reference Data product offering. This position is offered out of NCR region and the successful candidate will work closely with colleagues across locations such as in Noida, Gurugram, New York, Dallas and London.

Responsibilities: As a member of the Reference Data Operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring that Security reference and entity information is captured in a timely, accurate and complete manner. You will work with operations, DEV, QA and client teams to resolve various data issues and implement new requirements.

BAU Support

• Strong understanding of financial and capital markets.
• Good understanding of issuances and corporate actions life cycle of fixed income instruments (GSAC and Municipal issues).
• Meet KPI targets for the respective group around Quality and Service metrics
• Able to create and maintain workflows related to the reference data maintenance.
• Monitor Vendor Feeds and Corp Action sources and ensure information is captured timely and accurately
• Complete daily assignments/tasks assigned and report progress and any delays
• Create and follow standard operational procedures and highlight any potential deviations to SME/Line Manager. Suggest procedural changes where required.
• Perform sample Quality check for team members and provide inputs for training, etc.
• Work on projects allocated as per agreed timelines.
• Identify opportunities to enhance operational efficiency and create value added workflows.
• Proactively identify and deliver on opportunities to enhance database coverage and quality/process improvement projects

Projects

• Work with operations team, QA & Dev to sync up understanding and for building solutions
• Lead UAT testing and integration into operational processes
• Prepare detailed documents for training and ops purposes.

Service and Client Queries

• Own and resolve client (internal and external) queries on Fixed Income Terms and Conditions within agreed SLAs
• In depth research and provide highest standard of quality for client responses
• Work with responsible teams to get issues fixed and escalate where required for timely resolution
• Work on Root Cause Analysis for data corrections and inconsistencies. Work with Ops leads to take preventive actions.

Business competencies:

Education and experience :

Graduate degree/ Post Graduate or equivalent in ideally Finance, Economics or Business.

Mandatory Skills:

At least 8-10 years of experience in Reference Data space

Understands Fixed Income workflows and Reference Data industry practices

Trouble Shooting & Problem solving skills

Analytical Skills

Strong Communication skills

Expertise level knowledge of Python, SQL & Excel and ability to deal with large volumes of data for analysis

Understanding of Reference Data flow and should have good knowledge of Reference Data content.

Basic understanding of associated technology & tools associated with Reference Data.

Good knowledge of MS Office

Knowledge of 3rd party reference data vendor feeds will be desirable
