Lead - Product Safety

POSITION PURPOSE:

• To lead Product Safety Team (responsible for India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka, IBSL), for fulfilling and delivering country specific product safety requirements to achieve sustainable registrations
• Planning, budgeting and execution of country specific product safety studies in close collaboration with various internal and external stake holders.
• Contribute to License To Sell (LTS) for key assets by staying on top of technical and regulatory developments in collaboration with key internal (country RA, Stewardship, RA&SA, region and global product safety functions) and external (CropLife, , various authorities, academia).
• The position is also responsible for handling Glyphosate defense
• Anchor the safety team into local, regional and global processes to ensure the team stays on top of their field and local developments and maximizing retention

• Lead the digital transformation in each safety area, by leveraging the global tools and tailoring to local demands (business demands, domain expertise, local specifications)

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• To lead Product Safety Team for India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka (IBSL) for fulfilling and delivering country specific product safety requirements to achieve sustainable registrations.
• Plan and deliver country specific product safety requirements in close collaboration with country, region and global teams.
• Risk assessments and product safety profiling for local project and regional asset team (A) as early indication of the product safety related % APRS / PMO risk tracking (B) in scoping and aligning product safety strategy with the regional function
• Drive integration of new product safety requirements into operational Development Division workflow with the regulatory and field solutions teams linking up with the project management office and project teams for ensuring targeted and timely safety content availability.
• Facilitate regional and global teams to fulfill higher tier demands, apply and further develop technical expert tools (exposure models, input data, ERA assessments), supporting / developing an efficient workflow and timely risk communication.
• Contribute to regional community platform for delivering local asset product safety needs and issues actively to the regional safety function for aligned request and targeted strategy and benefit from cross regional concepts to drive advocacy topics through industry platforms.
• Support global / regional initiates by taking lead in planning and execution of local studies related to Environmental / Human safety studies, overseeing endpoint generation.
• Drive development of scientifically sound and regulatory requirements through science based collaborations with various regulatory authorities and institutes via partnerships.
• Support cross functional country teams in developing mitigation plan for production of safe food by food chain partners w.r.t MRLs.
• Effective planning, monitoring and efficient utilization of the budget required for safety studies.
• Collaborate with regional / global function teams and expert community to build and maintain high level of expertise.
• Develop and enhance competency of the team members and foster leadership culture.
• Drive digital transformation in country product safety to drive efficiencies.

WHO YOU ARE:

• M. Sc. in Agriculture or in Allied Sciences
• Around 10-12 years of experience in Registration and Regulatory Affairs area with understanding of country Regulations and data requirements, developing Registration strategies, analysis of Regulatory data w.r.t product safety and to fulfill registration requirements for various Crop Protection projects
• Complete knowledge of country Regulations and Product safety data requirements for securing product registration / label extensions
• Consistent performance and proven track record of successfully resolving technical / regulatory queries related to product safety during product registration process.
• Technical skill, expertise in planning, analysis of Regulatory data for designing registration strategy, preparation of quality registration dossiers w.r.t product safety area for acceptance by regulators to achieve planned registrations.
• Ability to anticipate regulatory challenges in the area of product safety, interpret new regulatory trends and policies and taking appropriate mitigation measures.
• Good communication, analytical and interpersonal skills for dealing with internal and external stakeholders
• Digital affinity, proficiency in working with computer and digital regulatory tools.
