About the Role:
The Production Monitoring Technologies Services (PMTS) team is part of the Enterprise Technology Infrastructure group which is responsible for all aspects of the enterprise infrastructure and various applications. PMTS is responsible for the architecture, engineering, development and oversight of new and existing applications for enterprise monitoring and systems management.

Event monitoring is undergoing a transformation to support the firm's strategic initiatives. The observability group will play a key role in planning, engineering and developing solutions for various critical traditional compute, on-prem and public cloud observability environments in the enterprise. Focus is on metrics and event generation systems for application and infra monitoring (log, metrics events), covering existing and open source monitoring tooling, as well as public cloud monitoring services.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead complex initiatives to develop infrastructure to provide solutions for business applications
  • Participate in various projects intended to continually improve or upgrade the infrastructure
  • Evaluate internal and external software solutions which could be leveraged to meet target state architecture goals
  • Review and analyze high impact outages to ensure the proper processes and procedures are in place to avoid problems in the future
  • Design, build, deploy and maintain infrastructure solutions through collaborative efforts with the team and third party vendors
  • Design, code, test, debug and document programs using Agile development practices
  • Make decisions in technical designs, implementation plans and identify project risks and resource requirements
  • Direct the daily risk and control flow of operations, focusing on policies, procedures and work standards to ensure success
  • Recommend courses of action to maintain cost effectiveness and achieve results
  • Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals
  • Interact with customer and vendor
Required Qualifications, International:
  • Experience in Technology Infrastructure Engineering and Solutions, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Required Qualifications
  • 10+ years of software engineering experience
  • 3+ years of Agile experience
  • 5+ years of experience with Linux operating system engineering or automation
  • 5+ years of platform engineering experience
  • 3+ years of experience with secure DevOps and deployment automation to cloud environments
  • 3+ years of team leadership or management experience
  • Desired Qualifications
  • An industry-standard technology certification
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • 3 -5 years' Engineering 3rd party observability software products.
  • 3+ years of Cloud Foundry experience
  • 3+ years of experience with Cloud technologies
  • 3+ years of experience with Application performance, monitoring and optimization using Blazemeter, JMeter, Splunk and AppDynamics
  • Experience in developing, deploying, monitoring and building large distributed and parallel systems using container technology including Docker, Kubernetes, Azure, GCP
  • Knowledge of industry wide technology trends and best practices
  • Proficiency in one or more modern programming languages: Java, Groovy, Python
  • Strong on critical thinking, communication and team work skills are essential to this role
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3+ years of experience with Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
  • 3+ years of DevOps experience
  • 2+ years of experience in building and deploying microservices and cross channel restful Application Programming Interface (APIs) using Apigee, Consul, Resilience4J and Redis
  • 5+ years of experience with Linux operating system engineering or automation
  • 3+ years of experience with Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) tools
  • 3+ years of DevOps experience
  • 2+ years of experience in building and deploying microservices and cross channel restful Application Programming Interface (APIs) using Apigee, Consul, Resilience4J and Redis
  • 5+ years of experience with Linux operating system engineering or automation

  • Strong knowledge of industry leading monitoring solutions both vendor owned and open-source; including, DataDog, BigPAnda, Moogsoft, Prometheus, Graffana, ELK(Kibana) and AppDynamics etc.
  • Hands on engineer who is comfortable in delivery as well as providing technical leadership. Strong customer engagement skills.
  • Extensive experience of large-scale computing solutions having implemented advanced monitoring and automated solutions across a variety of applications and systems for both on-prem and cloud environments.
  • Strong experience working as a DevOps or Site Reliability Engineer across both on premise and cloud environments.
  • This role requires a wide variety of strengths and capabilities, including:
  • Advanced proficiency with DevOps automation and Shell scripting
  • Experience in on-prem and cloud-based application architectures, micro services, and distributed systems including hands-on experience with a cloud platform such as GCP/Azure or container technologies. Azure/GCP professional certification preferred
  • Lead by influence, mentor junior software engineers, ability to navigate to different teams and business to find solutions to complex problems
  • Deep experience with various cloud-native technologies including Kafka, Cassandra, Cockroach DB, Kubernetes, Springboot, etc.)
  • Strong data architecture skills
