Summary
Activities contributing to the design and development of products, solutions and systems. Includes activities linked to technical improvement of existing products and components Impacts departmental operations and responsible for planning/execution. The role has some autonomy but is focused on execution of activities within an operating discipline covered by standard functional practices and procedures. Some judgment may be required but this is typically with guidance.Roles and Responsibilities
- Execute design and analysis activities for Structural or Rotating components of engine modules for issue resolution, performance improvements, cost/weight reduction, Durability and producibility improvements
- Deliver on cost, performance & weight targets
- Collaborate with PSE for developing field plan
- Should network with Commodity CTHs, Cross functional teams viz. Supply Chain, Repair, MAE, CTPs and Shop technical teams to achieve the desired outcomes
- Foster and inspire a collaborative work style and display team-oriented behavior with proactive communication internally and externally
- Provide technical guidance & mentor younger engineers in team
- Leverage digital tools & analyze the data insights to drive appropriate actions
- PhD/MTech /MS/BTech/BE in Mechanical/Aerospace
- 5+ years of relevant experience on Mechanical design/hardware ownership/ Finite element analysis of rotating parts preferably in aircraft engine/gas turbine domain.
- In-depth understanding of mechanical design fundamentals
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across teams
- Exposure to Heat transfer analysis, Lifing methodologies, Manufacturing processes will be added advantage
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Ability to influence others and lead small teams. Lead initiatives of moderate scope and impact.
- Effective problem identification and solution skills.
- Proven analytical and organizational ability
