Lead, Digital Communications ISDM Location: Noida Reports to: Director, Marketing Indian School of Development Management
About ISDM

ISDM is an institution founded to create, strengthen and establish Development Management, a domain that transcends the exclusive silos of ‘development perspectives’ and ‘management principles’. ISDM recognizes the need to 'professionalize’ the Leading and Managing of Social Purpose Organisations (SPOs). The institution sees the development space as requiring the application of management disciplines that are unique and tailored to the scale of the sector. Management that doesn’t merely retrofit Business Management to development projects, but one that is born specifically from the coming together of the two crucial domains.
By 2025, ISDM aims to become the go-to management institute for top professionals wanting to transform the development sector for a greater impact on people’s lives. In order to achieve this aim, ISDM has identified three broad focus areas
1. Continuously building the one-year-long Post-Graduate Program in Development Management (PGP-DM); 2. Creating a strong research function that will lay the foundations for Development Management and leadership as a unique domain and discipline; 3. Launching Strategic Capacity Building Programs aimed at influencing and upskilling middle to senior leaders in the social sector through special workshops, short-term courses, and customized convenings.
ISDM has audacious ambitions to build a world-class institution, become a global fountainhead of development management knowledge, and define the domain of development management for the Social Sectors. The belief is that Management for the Social Sectors (or Development Management) will significantly scale up the positive impacts on the lives of people in sustained ways. ISDM is entering a new phase of growth with a revamped program and renewed focus on establishing itself firmly as a preeminent institution in its domain. This requires strategic and energetic institutional leadership.
The Marketing & Communications Team

The Marketing & Communications team is responsible for building the brand of ISDM, giving a voice and platform to the brilliant yet unheard work that is happening within ISDM, and making it heard and understood across all stakeholder groups, thus raising the visibility and profile of ISDM. We do this by working with the teams within ISDM to understand and determine what needs to be communicated, and then using the appropriate physical, digital and social media platforms to communicate the message consistently and effectively.

We are searching for the architect of ISDM’s digital presence who will ensure that our digital identity is a true representation of our physical identity – an exemplary social media specialist with experience in independently creating, executing & maintaining our social media presence, as well as maintaining a very high-quality website.

Your key responsibilities will be to:


  • Hold the integrity of all ISDM’s social media handles & website & ensure that they are speaking to one another
  • Convert ISDM's vision to social media & website goals & strategies
  • Conceptualise & create digital comms campaigns/ engagement for ISDM, ISDM institutional collaterals & events & Academics e.g. Alumni, Faculty, Pedagogy, Curriculum, Life at ISDM, Sangam/ CEOTalks, Donors & partners, together with designer & specific to each platform
  • Create specific SM strategies for each platform - Fb, Insta, LinkedIn, Twitter & YouTube
  • Consult with each vertical C&E - Admissions, SCB, GKH - to help them create their own campaigns
  • Touch base with each vertical, External Comms, PR & Events to understand their digital comms requirements & activity in their space
  • Create & maintain the monthly social media calendar
  • Oversee the day-to-day management of each campaign on each platform
  • Hold the relationship with the Student Social Media Body & work with them on their social media strategy
  • Conceptualize & create high-level institutional ad campaigns for Google Grants
  • Work with an agency or independently run Google ad campaign on Google Grants
  • Independently conceptualize website content requirements
  • Optimize the website content, using learnings from SEOs, verticals requirement, working on generating written content, banners, etc.
  • Analyze the tracking data, share with respective verticals & devise improvements to strategy/course corrections

You must have:

  • 5-7 years’ social media management experience, preferably in the social impact or education sectors
  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, public relations, or related field
  • Proficiency using multi-social posting programs such as Buffer or Hootsuite
  • Strong computer skills using Microsoft Office, and a good knowledge of Search Engine Optimization and internet ranking for web content, Google AdWords, Google Analytics, social media platform analytics
  • Relevant experience in determining a target audience and how to cater unique marketing campaigns to capture their attention
  • Strong understanding of marketing strategy and how to effortlessly utilize these concepts throughout various forms of outreach
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and copywriting skills, a flair for aesthetics and design, and exceptional attention to detail
  • Working knowledge of CMS platforms such as Drupal will be a plus
  • Proven experience of working in complex projects involving multiple stakeholders, partners, etc
  • Demonstrated ability to take ownership, have accountability, work in a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team, and strong problem-solving skills
