About the Role

In this role as the Lead, Data Governance and Security you will be responsible for:

  • Design and advise on Data governance, data security and privacy standards to help ensure governance and secure access to All data assets across the enterprise.
  • Lead direct reports by prioritizing work, managing escalations as required, and providing guidance/oversight as required day-to-day day basis.
  • Mentor data steward partners and data custodians in understanding their responsibilities as it relates to data governance, security, privacy, and regulatory expectations.
  • Be a thought leader in designing and defining entitlements systems that appropriately control our data assets.
  • Lead the delivery of automated data governance capabilities and solutions to ensure successful adoption of our policies and standards.
  • Training and enablement of users and stakeholders as required including the development of online training material
  • Innovate with new approaches to meeting data governance, privacy and security implementations.
  • Partner across the company with legal, information security risk management, enterprise risk and compliance offices to agree on necessary data governance, security and privacy controls.
  • Keep abreast of new approaches to meeting and support data governance, privacy and security implementation.
  • Effectively communicate and drive awareness with other data management teams embedded across the organization and data producers/consumers in the various business functions.
About You

You\'re a fit for the role of Lead, Data Governance and Security role if you have demonstrated.
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree required
  • Understanding of regulatory compliance (such as PCI-DSS, HIPAA and SOX) and privacy laws (such as, GDPR and CCPA)
  • 6+ years of experence in CISM, CISA, CRISC, CIPP, or ITIL certifications preferred
  • Authoring of enterprise-wide data governance policies, standards, and guidelines
  • Excel at convey complex topics to an audience in an easy-to-understand manner
  • Demonstrated developing a strategy to address a problem/opportunity, prioritizing deliverables, and working with technical engineering teams
  • Controlling data access using authN, authZ, RBAC, ABAC, SSL, OAUTH, PAM
  • Experence in Data lifecycle management, classification and tagging, specifically within M365
  • In depth knowledge of data ownership and custodian
  • Corporate information-sharing practices and technologies, and the controls they offer
  • Data residency and sovereignty requirements and how to achieve
  • Data storage on-prem and public cloud
  • Data discovery and loss prevention technologies and processes
  • Tagging and tracing data throughout disparate systems
  • Sanctioning data sharing applications, and controls to prevent unsanctioned use (such as CASB)
