Job Description

Assistant Manager - Global Trade & Customs (Bangalore)

The Tax Global Delivery Network (GDN) works closely with KPMG's Global Tax leaders to translate business requirements into a clear global delivery strategy for delivery centers that supports the needs of global KPMG solutions in Tax. It also creates and operates an interoperable, seamlessly integrated network of Global Delivery Centers to enable globally consistent delivery.

Management and Operations :

- Implement engagements from start to finish (planning, executing, directing, and completing tax projects) assigned to the team

- Manage engagement workflow, engagement team resources, and engagement billing

- Responsible for quality of work

- Provide leadership, counseling, and career guidance for the development and motivation of the team

- Continuous improvement of team's performance through critical analysis of feedback received

- Maintain and develop strong client relationships

- Operations reporting and performance dashboards for key stakeholders and leadership

SME and Guidance :

- Research and analyze a wide range of tax issues and tax implications

- Train and guide the team with relevant process and technical knowledge

- Consistently develop technology skills, technical skill and soft skills through firm- provided trainings

- Process and review data related to Trade & Customs operations

- Complex review and audit transactional documents related to customs entries

- Support the engagement Manager in pursuits, proposals and engagement reporting

Job Requirements :

Qualifications :

- Graduate in Commerce/Science with 8-10 years of work experience in a global and multi-cultural environment

- Proven experience in Trade and Customs domain, preferably in trade management and harmonized tariff schedule (HTS) classifications

- Strong project management skills

- Strong analytical and advisory skills

- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook

- Effective organization, analytical, and time management skills

- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills (including strong presentation skills)

- Strong team management skills, analytical skills with detail orientation

Preferred Skills :

- Ability to thrive in a fast moving, dynamic and demanding environment

- Strong commitment, ability to multi-task and be a team player

- Dedicated to superior client service
