Job Summary: Our busy restaurant is seeking an experienced South Indian Kitchen Manager to lead our kitchen team. As a Kitchen Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the kitchen, preparing food, managing kitchen staff, and maintaining food safety standards. Essential Job Responsibilities:
Manage the entire kitchen operations and staff on a daily basis
Prepare and cook South Indian dishes to high standards
Create menus and suggest new dishes for special events and seasonal menus
Ensure the kitchen team adheres to food safety standards and guidelines
Oversee inventory, ordering, and maintaining adequate supplies to meet demand
Train and manage kitchen staff according to the restaurant\'s policies and procedures
Ensure that all food and condiments are high-quality and meet low wastage targets
Continuously seek ways to improve quality, profitability, and efficiency in the kitchen
Maintain kitchen equipment and report any maintenance concerns to the management
Ensure that kitchen cleaning and hygiene standards are met
Requirements:
A minimum of 5 years of experience in managing kitchen operations in a South Indian restaurant
Strong knowledge of South Indian cuisine and cooking techniques
Experience in creating menus, ordering and maintaining stock, and managing inventory
Excellent leadership and management skills
Good communication skills to liaise with kitchen staff and management
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, perform multiple tasks and prioritize duties
Ability to work in a team environment and mentor kitchen staff
Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to the hospitality industry
Ability to make sound judgments and quick decisions in high-pressure situations
