Job Summary: Our busy restaurant is seeking an experienced South Indian Kitchen Manager to lead our kitchen team. As a Kitchen Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the kitchen, preparing food, managing kitchen staff, and maintaining food safety standards. Essential Job Responsibilities:
  • Manage the entire kitchen operations and staff on a daily basis
  • Prepare and cook South Indian dishes to high standards
  • Create menus and suggest new dishes for special events and seasonal menus
  • Ensure the kitchen team adheres to food safety standards and guidelines
  • Oversee inventory, ordering, and maintaining adequate supplies to meet demand
  • Train and manage kitchen staff according to the restaurant\'s policies and procedures
  • Ensure that all food and condiments are high-quality and meet low wastage targets
  • Continuously seek ways to improve quality, profitability, and efficiency in the kitchen
  • Maintain kitchen equipment and report any maintenance concerns to the management
  • Ensure that kitchen cleaning and hygiene standards are met
Requirements:
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in managing kitchen operations in a South Indian restaurant
  • Strong knowledge of South Indian cuisine and cooking techniques
  • Experience in creating menus, ordering and maintaining stock, and managing inventory
  • Excellent leadership and management skills
  • Good communication skills to liaise with kitchen staff and management
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, perform multiple tasks and prioritize duties
  • Ability to work in a team environment and mentor kitchen staff
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to the hospitality industry
  • Ability to make sound judgments and quick decisions in high-pressure situations
