What success looks like in this role:

• Successful provisioning in installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware, software, and related infrastructure. This also includes the installation of new systems, rebuilding existing systems, configuration of hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with customer/ government standards. \xe2\x80\xa2 Configuration management of Local Area Networks (LANs), Wide Area Networks (WANs), Wireless (LANs), network segments, and Internet and Intranet systems to ensure operability. \xe2\x80\xa2 Installation and maintenance of network hardware and software, analyzes problems, and monitors networks to ensure their availability to users. \xe2\x80\xa2 Maintains, monitors and troubleshoots within the roles of Incident Management (Return-to-Service) and/or Problem Management (Reason for Outage). \xe2\x80\xa2 Evaluates a system\xe2\x80\x99s performance and identifies user needs based on approved software per customer specifications. \xe2\x80\xa2 Supports acquisition of hardware and software as well as subcontractor services as needed. \xe2\x80\xa2 Works with team to determine methods and procedures on new assignments and may assist with system design efforts. \xe2\x80\xa2 Contributes to the preparation and presentation of technical trade-offs and/or results to managers, customers and peers. \xe2\x80\xa2 Works closely with network operations, systems and other groups on business projects, assignments, problems, etc. \xe2\x80\xa2 Develops and documents systems administration standard knowledge base articles. \xe2\x80\xa2 Maintains on-call availability to respond to network issues and up-time; must be flexible and available with the scheduling. \xe2\x80\xa2 Contributes to technical artifacts through team/program SharePoint and/or communities of practice.

You will be successful in this role if you have: \xe2\x80\xa2 University degree or equivalent education and experience. \xe2\x80\xa2 Some knowledge of evaluating vendor products and making recommendations to purchase hardware and software. \xe2\x80\xa2 Knowledgeable in setting up administrator and service accounts. \xe2\x80\xa2 Knowledgeable in network security procedures, best practices, and implementation. \xe2\x80\xa2 Ability to troubleshoot software issue and customer applications as required. \xe2\x80\xa2 Strives to achieve industry standard certifications: e.g; Security+, CCNP, CCNA, MCSE, Network+, MCSA, A+ \xe2\x80\xa2 Proficient documentation skills are required. \xe2\x80\xa2 Must have a strong understanding of Microsoft Windows Server 2008 (32 and 64 bit), Active Directory, Group Policies, User and Computer Management utilities. \xe2\x80\xa2 Some knowledge of industry-specific terminology. \xe2\x80\xa2 Must be a fast technology learner and have the ability to independently perform tasks.
