Saint-Gobain Research India (SGRI) is the 7th cross-functional R & D centre for the Saint-Gobain Group. SGRI supports and develops existing and new businesses in India and provides and nurtures future talent for the Group in India. SGRI collaborates with local universities and external partners to produce solutions for sustainable habitat in hot-humid climates. This centre develops transversal competencies including academic partnerships and interfaces with other R & D centres across the world to accelerate business growth.

IT infrastructure support ensures that an organization\'s technology environment is reliable, secure, and aligned with business goals. It involves a combination of technical expertise, proactive monitoring, problem-solving skills, and effective communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders




JOB DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES





Oversee the planning, design, implementation, and maintenance of the IT infrastructure, which may include servers, networks, storage systems, data centres, and cloud environments.
Configure, implement, and manage HPC clusters on both Windows Server and Linux distributions, optimizing performance and resource utilization.
Monitor HPC cluster performance, analyse resource usage, and plan for capacity expansion based on workload demands.
Responsible for VMware Horizon environments, providing guidance, mentoring, and fostering a collaborative work environment
Configure, implement, and manage VMware Horizon components, including virtualization (vSphere), management (vCenter), and desktop/application delivery (Horizon Connection Server).
Research and evaluate new technologies, tools, and solutions that can enhance the organization\'s IT infrastructure, security, and performance.
Implement and enforce security best practices to safeguard the IT infrastructure against cybersecurity threats. Ensure compliance with industry regulations and data protection standards by collaborating with Regional IT Team.
Provide technical expertise in resolving complex infrastructure issues and participate in incident response and disaster recovery planning.
Maintain accurate documentation of IT infrastructure configurations, procedures, and processes to facilitate knowledge sharing and troubleshooting.
Collaborate with vendors to acquire hardware, software licenses and managing vendor relationships.

B. Tech/B.E. in Any Specialization




MINIMUM YEARS OF EXP

5+ years of experience in IT infrastructure roles, with a track record of progressively increasing responsibility.




NATURE OF EXPERIENCE

Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure components, including high-performance computing (HPC) servers, networking, storage, virtualization, and cloud technologies






SPECIFIC SKILLS/PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES

Profound knowledge of VMware Horizon components, including vSphere, vCenter, Horizon Connection Server, and Nvidia License Server, with hands-on experience in deployment and management.
Ability to analyse complex technical issues, troubleshoot problems, and devise effective solutions
Understanding of cybersecurity principles, best practices, and tools to ensure the security and integrity of IT infrastructure.
Excellent communication skills to interact with stakeholders and collaborate effectively within and across teams.
Ability to align IT infrastructure decisions with business objectives and contribute to long-term IT strategy.
Relevant certifications, such as Microsoft MCSA/MCSE, VCAP.
