Alight is looking for an experienced Performance Engineer with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, thought leadership, and a demonstrated ability to find creative solutions to complex problems. Proactive, self-motivated, and independent with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while delivering high-quality work on tight schedules. The Application Performance Test and Support Engineer role is a technical role in our applications management and support (AMS) team. Responsibilities: The individual will be involved in the following critical activities: Design, code, test, deploy, and maintain performance testing solutions that provide automated test coverage of business functionality Ensure consistent, usable, forward-looking, maintainable test infrastructure draw from a large base of design patterns, uses expertise in available technologies, and is adept at identifying practices that work well Oversee performance test engagements, ensuring best practice. Serve as an escalation point for both project managers and performance testers supporting dependencies and removing blockages. Proactively identify performance issues, troubleshoot, provide effective options to prevent issues in production that could span multiple product areas Identify, analyze, and create detailed records of problems that appear during testing, such as software defects, bugs, functionality issues, and output errors, and work directly with software developers to find solutions and develop retesting procedures. Keep your leadership apprised on the progress, risks in performance testing practice with timely updates, metrics & reports as required. Proactively identify performance test technologies or solutions that differ from current technology stack or represent innovative uses of existing technologies The ideal experience and critical competencies for the role include the following: Flexible, adaptable, and pragmatic with an ability to stay focused on objectives and a can-do-attitude Have evident problem-solving skills and strong technical troubleshooting skills Expert level experience with Load Runner Enterprise (+ Performance Center) and jMeter + 5 years of experience developing and implementing performance tests and analyzing performance test results while leveraging a variety of programming languages Experience with database objects in relational databases (ex. MS SQL, Oracle) including schema design, stored procedure development and performance and optimization technique.
