The Consultant is the expert with accountability for business applications (BA) in the area of scientific solutions and data management to define, design and implement laboratory information systems, lab data management, reporting and data/instrument integration. In this role the person takes leadership in the coordination of new requirements and existing solutions along an overall architecture and aligned roadmaps, resulting in an executable and profound project portfolio. This requires close coordination and good communication with multiple stakeholder such as key business contacts and internal/external service providers. The ownership entails a detailed understanding of application functionality and processes, including the design and provisioning of End-To-End services for related business applications. The job holder will also be responsible for major digital business projects related to scientific data. The job holder has broad expertise in his/her application area and handles IT Service- and Vendor- Management processes. He/she oversees and evaluates new solutions, recommends implementation of required changes and drives for continuous improvements

What will you be doing?

Demand & Portfolio Management

• Lead contact & co-pilot for business demands in sub-domain
• End-to-end responsibility for projects, services and maintenance
• Align & prioritizes demands with the business along value and IT architecture & roadmap
• Understand the business needs, conduct requirement analysis and prepare project proposals
• Plan, lead and support projects in alignment with IT project management guidelines

Application & Roadmap Management

• IT product owner to manage application process changes & developments
• Define and maintain product roadmap and architecture
• Drive innovation, explore and propose new solutions based on business needs or market trends
• Focus on process improvements through automation & process harmonization
• Maximize the appropriate applications usage

Service Design & Delivery

• End-to-End responsibility for sub-domain owned product related services
• Deliver services and projects as agreed and along applicable SLA's"
• Define, agree and monitor services along applicable KPI's
• Continuous improvements in business processes areas, products and services
• Lead and collaborate with other IT teams to accelerate solution finding process

Personal Development

• Participate in the performance management process
• Supports knowledge transfer within the team
• Optimizes performance levels by goal alignment with line mgmt. and corresponding target reviews
• Ensures with continuous personnel development self-monitoring that the skill requirements are met within team
• Ensures adequate collaboration and communication within the team, across teams and to Clariant customers

What do we expect?

Education:

• University degree in business or information technology or comparable expertise
• Language: English

Business experience:

• Excellent process knowledge in the areas of Lab Information Systems like SAP QM, LIMS and ELN
• Excellent knowledge about generation and handling of inspection and science related data & information
• Enhanced project management skills and capable to lead an international/cross-functional team
• Deep process knowledge in related IT products like SAP QM, LIMS, CDA or ELN
• Solid knowledge about scientific content and related data structures
• Consulting experience in product selection and implementation
• Ability to collaborate and communicate with stakeholders at management level
• Good support and teamwork skills with the ability to deliver high quality results under time pressure
• Fluent English written and spoken communication skills
• Good interpersonal, intercultural, communication skills

Additional Qualifications:

• Pro-active and high level of self-motivation & team working skills, communicative, Cross-Cultural Understanding
• Ideally with a scientific background or interests
• Excellent analytical skills & structured working method
• Project Management - Certification in project management desirable (e.g. SCRUM)
