Job Description

Position: Instructional Designer Job Summary: The Instructional Designer Specialist analyzes, designs, develops, and evaluates training material throughout the program lifecycle to gain optimal learner-centric training solutions. Relationships: The Instructional Design Specialist reports to the Technical Communications Manager, Functional Manager / (SME), and Technical Communications Team Lead. Key Skill Sets: * Manufacturing / Engineering Product training deliverables that include but are not limited to blended learning materials, job aids, video, /audio scripts, accreditation/assessment/certification exam questions.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities including skills in explaining technical topics to novices and collaborating with subject matter experts, global stakeholders, and managers.
  • A self-starter with the ability to work independently as well as part of a globally distributed team.
  • Manage all assigned design solutions from conception to conclusion while working on multiple projects at a time.
  • Knowledge of technology-based design/development tools such as Adobe Captivate, Articulate Studio 360, Camtasia, Adobe Creative Suite etc.
Academics:
  • BA/BS degree in instructional design or a related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Degree in a related discipline such as instructional design or human performance technology.
Experience: 5 - 8 years. Responsibilities:
  • Partner with global stakeholders and SMEs to source materials and re-imagine interactive and engaging digital learning experiences by using the best practices of adult learning methodologies.
  • Utilize various multimedia technologies, including blended learning and gamification, to build a successful learning environment for different user personas.
  • Develop storyboards, audio scripts, graphics concepts to create Interactive Multimedia Instructions (IMI).
  • Other duties may be assigned.
