About the team:
New consumer preferences, market shifts, and digitization are changing the way P&C insurance is designed, bought and sold. As a result, traditional insurers are looking for new ways to connect and differentiate, and non-insurance companies understand offering insurance can provide more value for their customers. The Innovation & Development team within P&C Solutions was established to support our clients and partners in designing new solutions that provide the most value for their existing customers and customers of tomorrow.
We are a lean team of creative thinkers with a focus on execution. We tackle big challenges and ambitious ideas with human centered design and agile, test and learn approaches. We are consumer focused first and foremost and always design solutions with the end customer in mind.
About you:
You are curious by nature, passionate about understanding different perspectives, and uncovering the things other people may not notice. You are deeply customer centric, and know in a complex value chain, there may be several people to consider. You're a team player, but also not afraid to challenge others in order to make a product or solution the best that it can be. You are familiar with trends in technology, business, and society and love to think about their impact on the future.
You may be coming from market research, user experience, or product development roles in a corporate innovation team, an insurance carrier, distributor or insurtech, or have an entrepreneurial background. What matters most is that you love learning new things and are comfortable navigating ambiguity and rapid change.
Desired Skills & Experience:

• Overall around 5-9 years of experience
• Experience in product development, or bringing new solution to market
• Good understanding of Insurance (having worked directly with an Insurer or have gained the knowledge through projects or consulting)
• Experience with Design Thinking and/or Behavioral Economics
• Good understanding of various technologies and AI (need not be hands-on) and its application in solving Insurance business problems/challenges
• Creative thinker who can work well independently or with a team

Bonus points if you have

• Insurtech or fintech experience

About the role:
The Innovation Consultant is a key member of the Global Innovation Team within P&C Solutions. You will bring the customer perspective to our design thinking inspired solutions and innovation strategy.
You'll play a key role in building a diverse range of P&C insurance products in partnership with our clients, and tech and alternative distribution partners, products that will protect people and businesses and help make the world more resilient. This means innovation across the insurance value chain, from application to claims, and across business lines, from homeowners to small business to construction. This is a great opportunity to innovate, have an impact, and learn about a wide range of insurance topics.
Key responsibilities:

• Collaborating with clients and partners on co-development of innovative insurance products and solutions – including conducting research and recommending design approaches based on insights
• Designing and conducting customer and agent research as part of the product development process – this could include interviews, surveys, and designing experiments
• Working with cross-functional internal and external teams to design, validate and launch products in a highly iterative delivery approach
• Leading design thinking workshops with clients both in person and virtual – bringing people together to make things happen
• Conducting market research to identify emerging opportunities and originating ideas
• Coordinating internal cross functional teams to execute Innovation & Development strategy
