Jon title: IFE Systems Evaluation Engineer/Lead Reports to: Head of Commercial Location: Delhi Ensure aircraft IFE systems and connectivity systems are maintained to the required standard of serviceability to promote the Air India image for Refurbished,Retrofit and New Aircrafts. Duties and Responsibilities: New Projects: 1. Good knowledge on LOPA and IFE systems. Able to Evaluate the cost of IFE systems .Ability to judge the systems configuration and Evaluate the systems. 2.Participate in ITCM\'s PDR & CDR. Should be in a position to travel. Should be able to float RFQ\'s. 3.Should be in a position to respond to RPF\'s. 4.Should be in a position to do Technical Evaluation of RFP\'s. Retrofit & Refurbished Projects: 1. Ensure maintenance is accomplished to the required standards and the operating programme is achieved in an efficient and safe manner. 2. Reviewing the work and resources required to ensure expedient rectification of IFE and cabin avionics defects utilising allocated staff. Ensuring that adequate staff levels are maintained to meet the Section\'s obligations. 3. Advising the IFE Manager of any impending service disruptions, problems or areas of concern that may have an impact on the operating programme. 4. Ensuring staff under his immediate control adhere to published technical and safety requirements defined in published manuals and other publications. 5. Defining priorities to the staff allocated to him to ensure that efficient use of resources are channelled to ensure an on time and safe flight departure with IFE and connectivity systems maintained to high standards. 6. Ensuring documentation and its certification is completed in a timely manner and to the defined procedures to meet Company requirements. 7. Ensuring replacement parts and components are of an approved type, correctly certified and released and are physically inspected prior to fitment to aircraft or component. Ensuring that removed components are correctly handled, labelled and blanked. 8. Assisting the IFE Manager in the compilation of technical Delay reports in a timely manner, reporting significant defects, discrepancies, incidents, accidents and events. 9. Be a part of Daily meeting with the vendors and discuss impending issues related to IFE and connectivity systems on short and long-time basis. 10. Compile IFE and connectivity parts used on daily basis and check the spares levels and coordinate with the technical stores to reorder, repair and/or purchase of spares. Give a head up to IFE Manager in case to spares reaching minimum quantity. 11. Participate in any management meeting if required, on the request of IFE Manager. 12. Coordinate with IFE Projects engineers and Technical Engineers for new aircrafts that would be inducted to Air India fleet. 13. Attend and perform First Article Inspections for the IFE and connectivity systems that would be inducted to Air India fleet as required. 14. Monitoring the Air India fleet for repetitive occurrence of IFE defects and suggesting the IFE Manager for issuing Trouble shooting recommendations and compilation of the same after it being actioned upon. 15. Responsible for technical discussions through defects analysis with IFE vendors and IFE Technical Services Engineer to provide input for improvements of IFE system performance and reduced IFE issues re-occurrences. Education: B.Sc. (Engineering) or B.Eng. Degree in Aeronautical, Avionics, Aircraft Maintenance, Electrical or Electronics or equivalent from a recognized university or (Optional) Licensed Aircraft Engineer- IFE with at least 4 years\' experience as Certifying staff holding DGCA/EASA/FAA/ICAO Type II license. Experience: Minimum 6-8 years hands on working experience on IFE systems like Thales IFE systems or Panasonic IFE systems and on Connectivity would be added advantage. At least 4 years of certifying experience on Thales and Panasonic aircraft systems of Air India fleet and have worked on A319/A320/A321, B777 and/or B787 General knowledge of aircraft interiors and related system components. Good knowledge of equipment installed on aircraft used by the airline. Ability to write technical documents for issue to maintenance and overhaul agencies. Should have good presentation skills and the ability to communicate efficiently with delegates, manufacturers and vendors on matters dealing with any arising problems. Experience in usage of Airman, Airbus world, My Boeing Fleet, Airplane Health Management, Supply chain systems like AMOS, RAMCO or Trax(Added Advantage) Good communication and negotiating skills MS Office tools skills Good interpersonal skills
