Join our Marine team in Chennai
The Marine department of COWI India is undertaking projects from both international and domestic markets and offers a comprehensive range of consulting services related to the development of Ports, Harbours, Coastal and Marine structures and other infrastructure etc.
By heading the Building Information Modelling (BIM) team of Marine in Chennai, India, you will be an integrated part our global network of BIM experts. As Head of the BIM section, you will report of Head of Marine in India.

A key component of your work will be to enable, promote, and grow collaboration across COWI by building relationships and trust, with key stakeholders within the COWI network, as well as other Head of Sections within the Marine department.

In addition, your ability to promote and maintain a high-performance culture within the team by living and promoting COWI\'s values will be the cornerstone for successful delivery of the portfolio of projects being undertaken in the team.
On a day-to-day basis, you will:

• Engage with key stakeholders (Line Managers, Project Managers, Delivery Managers and Specialists) within COWI\'s Business Line International network to grow the pipeline of work for the team.
• Develop and spar with individual staff members on their professional and personal development leading to enhanced efficiencies by providing them technical direction, quality review and guidence
• Handle project resource allocations, ensuring that the staff with relevant skills and proficiency are assigned. Also handling recruitments and other staff related matters
• In close collaboration with key stakeholders, develop the strategy for the competence development and growth of the team, tying into COWI\'s overall strategic ambitions
• Act as Team leader or Technical leader on complex projects
• Advise project managers in planning of BIM-related services, production environment and deliveries on the project
• Participate proactively in the professional forum for digitization in COWI and contribute with development initiatives and professional sparring to the other employees within BIM.
• Train and mentor project team members on BIM information and data management best practices and technologies.

On top of that, you have:

• A bachelor\'s degree in Civil Engineering. Master\'s degree is preferable
• Experience as BIM Manager or Head of Section leading a team of 15 or more people as a minimum.
• Demonstrated experience of at least 5 years in BIM Management on complex projects, and overall more than 15 years of industry experience, providing quality reviews in the area of speciality, leading and delivering tenders, feasibility/ concept studies, and detailed design in transportation infrastructure projects.
• In-depth understanding of quality management systems
• Knowledge of BS/PAS1192/ ISO19650 and BIM tools like Tekla/Revit, Civil 3D, Bluebeam, Navisworks, BIM 360
• Experience of working in multi-cultural and multi-national team environment. Working experience within North America, Scandinavian or UK markets would be advantageous
• Impeccable English communication skills - verbal and written
