Job Description

Resource will be doing full stack development of mapping solutions within our order entry, data delivery, and e-commerce applications utilizing the latest tools and technologies. You will function as the GIS technology expert on multiple project teams while working with subject matter experts in the business areas to arrive at optimal designs. The ideal candidate must be comfortable developing complex data-intensive software applications in a fast-paced dynamic environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform all technical aspects of full stack software development (design, code, unit test, source control)
• Design and apply best-of-breed application solutions to meet business objectives on large-scale technology projects; evaluating impacts on integration, reliability, performance, scalability, flexibility and maintainability.
• Ensure the GIS solutions will support the business objectives. Strike a balance between practical designs and alignment with the architectural vision.
• Work closely with multiple development teams to build GIS solutions that require significant cross component coordination.
• Collaborate with users and business analysts to define requirements and set usability goals.
• Work with the testing team to ensure high quality deliverables
• Provide application support to end users.
• Take responsibility for your own safety and the safety of other employees, and comply with all instructions given regarding health, safety and the protection of the environment.
• Ensure the correct use of safety devices and protective equipment as required and report any hazards, accidents or injuries to your immediate supervisor.

• BS in computer science, engineering, or related area
• 2+ years of experience as a software developer implementing GIS solutions
• Experience with publishing and administering map services using GeoServer and ArcGIS Server
• Experience with tuning and troubleshooting map services for optimal performance.
• Experience with maintaining and administering geodatabases using PostGIS, ArcGIS GeoDBs
• Knowledge of open-source GIS software like GeoServer, PostGIS, GDAL, GeoPandas and GeoSpark
• Proficiency with programming languages such as such as Python, Java, and TypeScript
• Experience working with ESRI APIs and tools (ArcObjects, Geoprocessing, ArcGIS Desktop/Server/Portal, ArcGIS Online, etc.)
• Knowledge of web frameworks such as Angular, React, Node.js, and Openlayers
• Experience with SQL databases such as PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Oracle, and MySQL
• Ability to work in an agile environment using Scrum and Kanban

• Experience in a hybrid on-premise and cloud environment (AWS, Azure, Google)
• Experience in the upstream oil/gas industry
• Experience with technologies such as Google Big Query, Airflow, Elastic Search, Spark, Kafka, Git, Azure DevOps, Terraform, VS Code, Kubernetes.
• Ability to analytically address complex problems, process critical data, establish facts, and draw quality conclusions
• Ability to quickly learn and debug large complex systems in ambiguous situations
• Outgoing personality and a good team player
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, in communicating with people at various levels of the organization
