Job Description

:

1. To facilitate operations to achieve consistent productivity with quality at benchmark levels Plan M/T activities to ensure availability & reliability of equipment to facilitate operations. Ensure downtime due to M/T breakdowns is minimum Ensure proper selection of MOC & its application for various piping & equipments Timely attending to leakages if any in utilities & product piping Plan for acid plant shutdown & overhauling jobs & its implementation

2. To improve MTBF s of all equipments to benchmark Review and act on LLF and NDT reports daily. Draw up & follow preventive maintenance schedules. Review the schedules based on actual NDT and breakdown reports. Investigate repetitive problems and eliminate the root causes.

3. To reduce MTTR of all equipment Planning and ensuring availability of required spares. Study the work method followed for repair and overhauling and plan for improvements to the same

4. Ensure optimum utilization of inputs to optimize expenditure and control cost of maintenance Monitor consumption of high value consumable items & to take steps to control them. Explore possibilities for developing spares in-house.

5. Ensure schemes for product improvement & cost reduction are evaluated & implemented with lowest cost as per the approved plan to achieve desired results. Identify developmental schemes by regular interaction with seniors colleagues & subordinates.

6. Develop schemes based on suggestions obtained from Kaizens / other units. Workout feasibility of the schemes for implementation. Prepare proposals for budgetary approval. Coordinate implementation of new schemes within budgeted cost & time

7. Assign roles to available manpower. Call up reserve manpower in case of shortfall for planned jobs. Supervise planned jobs and monitor progress and quality of work.

8. Generation of equipment data & its entry in history books While on work enrich the knowledge of available manpower as on job training Set standards of behavior & moral conduct to maintain the discipline

9. Ensure WCM concepts are adopted & followed. Plan M/T activities based on observations & feed back through co- ordination book Coordinate with concerned for the follow-up of workshop related jobs. Develop checklist based on the observations & ensure its follow-up Collect & segregate scrap generated in plant at the allotted site & coordinate with concerned for its disposal. Keep records of the material GRN Manage DA & oxygen cylinders as per requirement. Maintain condition of internal store rooms as per 5S principles Highlight the critical issues & abnormalities Check the consumption of spares, inventory & raise the indents as per need.

10. Ensure all the safety precautions are followed & required PPE are used while carrying out the activities in the plant Ensure work permits are sought /issued for all the critical jobs. Get all the pressure vessels ,lifting equipments tested as per statutory requirements Ensure no spillage of lubricating oils ,hazardous waste,corrosive scrap on the bare soil floor
