Job summary
As a Finance Operations Business Partner, the candidate will work with customer-centric, entrepreneurial and cross-functional teams to drive financial results, scalable Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable processes and continuous improvement initiatives. The candidate demonstrates Ownership, long-term thinking and holds self, stakeholders and partner teams to high standards of accountability, quality and precision in communication, and execution of results. The primary audience for this role is Executive / Senior leaders in Business Operations, Finance, Transportation Execution, Technology and other groups such as Legal, Accounting and Tax.
The role will need proven ability to make judgment calls in ambiguous environments with scarcity of data points. To drive improved results, work may require participation in areas outside of direct scope and but with opportunity to influence decision-making. The candidate needs to envision and create impactful, strategic long-term business and Finance Operations results through presentations to Executive Finance Leaders, but stay connected to tactical details to drive day-to-day implementation - which includes running reports and validation of data. The role requires speed of execution, calculated risk-taking, willingness to experiment to resolve blockers and influence stakeholders to align on goals which may be outside of their immediate scope. The role will use complex but collaborative problem solving skills, manage multiple, parallel high visibility priorities, and has the ability to dive-deep at regular intervals.

Key responsibilities:
Communicate to influence strategic outcomes while working on new launch projects, technology enhancements, process improvement initiatives and compliance initiatives such as Tax Projects or Audits.

Formulate customer-centric goals by working backwards from customers and not be limited by current process capability. Define programs to crystallize goals into incremental progressive actions, schedule and achieve implementation milestones, develop processes, and relevant process documentation.

Define measures of success, methods to validate measurement of the right parameters, and strongly disapprove optics. Schedule periodic reviews to assess progress, identify risks or blockers timely and implement agreed resolutions for core programs such as Vendor Experience initiatives, Payments to Critical suppliers and compliance.

Own financial reporting for related business area; understand input drivers and validate integrity of the reporting. When stakeholders are faced with difficult business problems, the candidate fosters constructive dialogues, harmonize conflicting views, lead the resolution of issues, and earn trust of stakeholders.

Core Focus area includes ensuring scalability of processes through technology that addresses volume, complexity, regulatory frameworks and expansion. Work backwards from customer through high quality and effective Business Requirements Documents for Technology teams and Leadership teams.

Communicate new programs, updates, changes to policies, and processes to leaders, employees, and cross functional organizations and prevent adverse surprises due to delayed or missed communication. Alignment with stakeholders, partner teams and internal customers in regards to change management practices is an essential part of the role.

Drive resolution of critical issues for vendors, business and tax teams as well as support processes/systems deep dives to ensure root cause analysis and document formal correction processes resulting in improved customer experience
The role requires diligent and consistent focus on defect reduction and design work streams that prevent non-value add efforts.

Identifying and quantifying financial and operational risks and opportunities both internal to Finance Operations and to leaders in business and finance and prioritizing short-term / long-term initiatives as necessary to address these risks and opportunities.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Professional Qualification such as CA, CMA
10+ years of Post-Qualification experience in Accounting, Finance, Audit or Consulting

Ability to deal with ambiguity, work autonomously, build reports and make data-driven decisions

Ability to deal thrive in a fast-paced environment with frequently changing priorities

Ability to define program requirements, finance process controls, policies to mitigate operational risk and formulate audit plan

Ability to deliver impactful, customer-centric, cross functional projects on time against stringent deadlines in a high pressure environment

Ability to manage resources in leadership roles and a proven record of developing high performing individuals and teams

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience in Construction, Transportation industries or other Engineering or Technology start-up organizations

Experience in working with Accounting and Tax related compliance projects

Experience in providing support for internal and external audit teams
