Amazon\'s Finance Operations, Accounting & Analysis (FOAA) team is a fast-paced, team-focused, dynamic environment and delivering great experiences for our customers is top priority. FOAA is seeking a Financial Analyst to perform Accounting, Analytical and Reporting activities.

The successful candidate will ensure that accounting processes are run in a controlled environment, meeting and exceeding our customers\' expectations. This role requires working with central accounting, finance operation , Tax and Global financial teams to ensure we have a controlled accounting process to do month end accounting and reporting activities in a manner fitting with our "Customer Obsession", \xe2\x80\x9cDeliver Results\xe2\x80\x9d and \xe2\x80\x9cInsist on Highest Standard\xe2\x80\x9d philosophy. The Financial Analyst is responsible for smooth operations of global accounting team at Bangalore, which includes closing the global books of accounts, posting of journal entries, preparing global general ledger account reconciliations, reporting and having reviews with leadership team. The person needs to ensure that the finance processes are operating at the optimum capacity, and partnering with operations and accounting team to achieve the annual operating plan. The Accounting team is responsible for preparing, reviewing and reporting on general ledger account and operational reconciliations. This individual will be responsible for developing and maintaining key financial and operational metrics, analyzing and reporting monthly variance analysis and providing ad-hoc reporting and analysis. This individual will also establish and embed principals of financial controls by measuring the quality of general ledger account reconciliations, creating dashboards and metrics to measure quality of processes and controls. This position will also be responsible for hiring and training priorities; ensuring existing policies and procedures are followed. The successful candidate should have a strong desire in innovating processes and exceed expectations in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, primarily driving innovation on behalf of our customers.
Responsibilities include:
Accounting and Control:
\xc2\xb7 Own financial reporting and may teach others e.g. own the delivery of complete month end close of VAT, Tax or other accounting functions, Transitions management, reporting decks, reconciliations etc.
\xc2\xb7 Provide support/direction for process or problem resolution.
\xc2\xb7 Ensure all processes are operating efficiently and effectively.
\xc2\xb7 Identify and implement process improvements where required.
\xc2\xb7 Understand the best practices of industry and set up benchmark for quality.
\xc2\xb7 Actively participate in strategic initiatives and special projects when assigned or required.
\xc2\xb7 Ensure appropriate financial policies, procedures, and internal controls are in place, documented, and operating as intended.
\xc2\xb7 Manage department\'s response to internal and external audit requirements and will also ensure compliance with Sox requirements for all geographies/activities.
\xc2\xb7 Manage complex accounting issues and implement process controls.
\xc2\xb7 Ability to analyze complex datasets and provide business judgements.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 4+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
- 3+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience
- 3+ years of building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making experience
- 3+ years of identifying, leading, and executing opportunities to improve, automate, standardize or simplify finance or business tools and processes experience
- Experience working with stakeholders
- Qualified Chartered Accountant

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience designing and implementing controls or experience performing audits over financial reporting environment
- Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
