About the role

The Financial Accountant is responsible for providing day to day assistance to the Cover Genius India and APAC team in all accounting, payroll, tax and general accounting duties, including journal entries, reconciliations, and ensuring the accuracy of the monthly accounts. In addition, you are responsible for and assisting the AD Finance APAC on Finance related projects from time to time.

Process Improvement Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and effectiveness of finance function Execute on suggestions to improve finance processes Keeping stakeholders informed of progress related to projects Project management of finance related initiatives, e.g. Payroll and Accounts Payable Processes improvement, automation of processes

Month end processes Responsible for the following month end processes:AccrualsProcessing journal entries Bank account and credit card reconciliations Balance sheet reconciliations Update the Fixed Asset Register and run the monthly depreciation

General Duties Process and approve (co-approve when required) all payments Daily bank reconciliations Monthly tax (TDS etc) payments Update and maintain the Fixed Asset Register Maintain the Accounts Receivable ledger and ensure completeness and timely cash receipts, coordinate with the Partner Services team Liaise with external payroll provider to ensure Indian payroll is complete, accurate and timely. Support the AD Finance APAC with bank account maintenance Any other ad hoc duties as requested by your Manager

Compliance Reporting Preparation of statutory reports and lodgement of the following: Monthly tax returns (TDS, etc) Liaise with external auditors (and tax advisors)

What the ideal profile looks like

• Business university degree with post-qualifications of CA or CPA
• 5 + years of post-qualification experience
• Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• AP & GL Accounting systems experience
• Excellent double entry/ bookkeeping skills
• Excellent presentation and communication skills
• Strong mathematical and accounting problem solving skills
• Demonstrated ability to work independently with accuracy and attention to detail
• Experience working with Netsuite (Oracle) or other mid-sized general ledger
• Experience reporting in a global environment, inter company transactions
• Experience in processing payroll for Australia and UK
• Ability to manage different internal and external stakeholders
