Role Title: Finance Specialist (L06)

Organizational Overview:

Treasury team priority is to ensure the business has the money it needs to manage its day to day business operations, while also helping develop its long term financial strategy. Payment Services team is a part of treasury operations, where we have two main processes i.e Day 1 & Day 2 Exception Process. In a Day 2 we have sub process like Payment Suspense, Payment Research, Payment Returns, Bank Advice & Vision Plus. Payment Services team mainly involves in the clearance of an invalid transaction within a given frame time

Roles Summary/Purpose:

Accurate and timely(daily) verification, processing and balancing of daily monetary processes

Support the implementation of key client/business initiatives that affect Payment Services processes.

Maintain a thorough understanding of all business processes, transaction flows, key systems and sources which impact Payment Services.

Support Payment Services Leader with initiatives and goals, targeting process and productivity improvements.

Essential Responsibilities:

Process monetary transactions in servicing systems or proprietary banking systems accurately and within stated CTQ\xe2\x80\x99s

Direct involvement with trailing activity as it relates to De-conversions/Conversions

Support the reconciliation process as required

Responsible for participating in process improvement projects related to the Payment Services department and other general accounting functions

Maintain accounting clearing and charge-off standards of uncleared items. Complete Journal Entries as assigned

Document process flows, procedures and job aids.

Communicate to managers & fellow associates any exceptions that are unusual in nature, items not cleared timely per clearing and charge-off standards, mis-posted items, etc.

Qualifications/Requirements:

Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in any discipline with minimum 1 year of working experience on FDR, Workstation & IMS, or in lieu of a degree minimum 3 years of working experience on FDR, Workstation & IMS.

Desired Characteristics:

Knowledge of Synchrony Financial systems (Oracle GL, Discoverer)

Working experience on Payment Returns/Research, Suspense Payments & Bank Advice

Previous experience working with Genpact/Outside Vendor

Prior experience in Payment Services within Synchrony Financial

Prior experience with FDR & Vision Plus receivable systems

Experience with TRECS account reconciliation system

Ability to execute in a fluctuating environment

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

Personal Computer proficiency (software: MS Office preferred)

Excellent organizational and follow up skills

Demonstrated interpersonal and relationship building skills

Demonstrated commitment to quality and customer service

Excellent communication skills \xe2\x80\x93 both oral & written

Ability to lead small projects to completion

Attention to detail

Eligibility Criteria:

Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in any discipline with minimum 1 year of working experience on FDR, Workstation & IMS, or in lieu of a degree minimum 3 years of working experience on FDR, Workstation & IMS.

Work Timings: 5:30am to 2:30pm EST
