Looking to take the next step in your career? Hatch is currently seeking a highly motivated Plumbing and Firefighting Engineer to join our Infrastructure Group in Gurugram.
Employment Type: Both contractual and permanent roles are available.
As the successful candidate, you will:
Be part of an engineering team providing engineering services to large and small global transit projects
Assist in defining project scope.
Broadly be responsible to ensure system design of plumbing & Firefighting.
Assist the Lead Mechanical Engineer with the delivery of project requirements as they relate to scope, cost, and schedule.
Design of drainage and water supply systems, equipment selection, and other related processes for transit projects.
Perform detailed calculations and prepare relevant technical specifications.
Prepare detailed design and construction drawings with the help of designer (2D and 3D).
Facilitate design delivery and coordination in a BIM environment.
Possess sound knowledge of international plumbing and firefighting codes and standards (IPC, IFC, NFPA etc).
Understand customer requirements and translating these to design.
Review design concept, calculations, drawings to the accuracy of design intent, Code Compliance, and customer requirements.
Review Engineering submittals, shop drawings and various construction administration procedures to provide quick turnaround during projects construction phase.
Coordinate with client, project managers and vendors to ensure on time delivery of projects as per schedule and requirements.
Develop Bill of quantities (BOQ) as per design.
Provide input to other disciplines within the project design team on mechanical requirements for layouts and project designs
Be expected to mentor young engineers/designers.

You bring to the role:
BEng / B-Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
Minimum 10 years of experience in plumbing and firefighting design for transit projects.
Strong English written communication and interpersonal skills.
Good planning and organizational skills.
Ability to function with minimal supervision.
Ability to function as a member of a multidisciplinary team and coordinate mechanical activities between disciplines.
Safety awareness.

Preferred
Experience in Metro rail project for Plumbing and fire protection system.
Sound knowledge of 3D data centric design systems.
Ability to delegate tasks and effectively supervise others.
Experience in the use of procedures and workflows in the execution of projects.
Education: Any Graduate
