ABOUT THE ROLE: The role of an English Editor with CBS Publishers & Distributors Private Limited is to produce error-free edited proofs in both hard as well as in soft copy. The candidate has to work keeping this in mind. The deadline and maintaining the high editing standard of the organization. This is senior-level position and so the editor has to maintain the sanctity of his/her position. He or she should have an eye for detail and the ability to notice small but important points that another individual might not notice. ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: \xc2\xb7 To edit medical/scientific content for print & digital edition \xc2\xb7 To coordinate with the author from the collection of the Manuscript to the final approval \xc2\xb7 To check the plagiarism of the text & images received by the author/faculty/content writers and to coordinate with author/faculty/content writers to make the content plagiarism-free \xc2\xb7 To work closely with the designer, page setter, and proofreaders to give the final shape of the book \xc2\xb7 To monitor and keep records of every stage of the editorial and production process \xc2\xb7 To provide inputs and ideas to the authors/contributors to make the product audience-oriented \xc2\xb7 Singularly responsible for successfully closing projects, including interacting with authors to generate appropriate content, editing and processing, and finally publishing. QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: \xc2\xb7 Experience of min 3-5 years in the same Portfolio \xc2\xb7 Good command of the English language \xc2\xb7 Must be from the Science Background \xc2\xb7 The knowledge of publishing manual of style, preferably the Chicago Manual of Style \xc2\xb7 Knowledge of plagiarism software and tools (Optional) \xc2\xb7 Good understanding of copyright or intellectual property rights \xc2\xb7 Insightful exposure to the entire spectrum of activities involved in production/editing, writing, \xc2\xb7 Highly creative, proactive, and achievement-driven with a strong work ethic and an aptitude for effective implementation and execution.
