Designation- Software Engineering

Location- Kochi, India

Experience- 2-5 Years

Technical Skills- Python, Java, Frontend & Backend Wed Designing, Database Design/Automation, Automated Unit Testing, Windows OS/Linux.

Good to have- Knowledge of tech language and business language, Rabit MQ would be plus.

Purpose:

• Responsible for those functions, activities, and skills required for analysis, design, coding, integration, test & maintenance of software modules, subsystems or systems which control other electrical, mechanical, electronic or network systems.

Scope:
General:

• Builds knowledge of the organization, processes and customers
• Requires knowledge and experience in own discipline; still acquiring higher level knowledge and skills
• Receives a moderate level of guidance and direction
• Moderate decision-making authority guided by policies, procedures, and business operations protocol

Primary Responsibilities:

• May perform one or more of the following:
• Plans, designs, develops and tests software systems or applications for software enhancements and new products.
• May develop a range of products including device drivers, patches, operating system modifications, graphics modules, etc.
• Analyzes, programs, and modifies software enhancements and/or new products used in local, networked, or Internet-related computer programs.
• Using current programming languages and technologies, writes code, completes programming, and performs testing and debugging of applications.
• Plans and directs studies of potential electronic data processing applications.
• Develops and installs programs to support general business applications running on PCs.
• Designs web pages, including graphics, animation, and functionality; develops infrastructure and applications related to pages.
• May make hardware or software purchasing recommendations regarding web development.
• All other duties as assigned.

Mandatory Skills and Knowledge

• Strong scripting skills, preferably using Python and Javascript
• Proficient developing web front and back ends
• Advanced understanding of web backend integration principles
• Comfortable and good understanding in database design and Structure
• Comfortable working with modern web development frameworks including working with a Database backend.
• Comfortable working with automated unit testing
• Experienced in windows and Linux server environment, including server automation.
• Shows a systematic, analytical approach to problem solving and shows aptitude for analyzing and managing problems arising from incidents.
• Demonstrates above average communication skills with an aptitude for dealing with users and colleagues, using both business and technical language.
• Takes initiative to keep own and skills up to date and to maintain awareness of emerging tech.

Preferred Skills and Knowledge

• Experienced in applying Automated testing principles.
• Comfortable designing APIs for bespoke technologies
• Rabbit MQ / AMQP
• Experience with Single Sign-on solution, preferably utilizing SAML.
• Experience working with a CI/CD solution, for example Jenkins or ADO Pipelines
• Experience with automated deployment technologies, for example Ansible, Chef or Puppet.
