Scope: Collaborates with other Consulting Engineers in appropriate technology domains to ensure optimal use of resources to meet customer needs Typically interacts with individual contributors, managers, and customers regularly and provides input to Sales team in creating and demonstrating technology solutions to customers Engage with sales teams on pre-sales activities Consulting Engineer Roles: Drives technology design, implementation, execution and/or optimization for customer projects/accounts. Works with customers to plan, design, configure and/or diagnose Cisco&rsquos suite of products, services and solutions to accelerate customer outcome Supports presale activities and translate business requirements into solution design Builds customer simulations in test labs to resolve/validate complex problems and compatibility issues Creates and delivers customer collateral, portals, documentation and knowledge transfer Complies with and supports company policies and processes and utilizes relevant tools to effectively execute the role and support Professional Services\' strategies and goals Works extensively with customers along with appropriate internal and external resources (e.g: Cisco account teams, partners) on the strategy/deployment/optimization of Cisco services and solutions Takes leadership role in execution of delivery projects and Improves solutions, methods developed in the field for use to the wider practice (knowledge sharing) Creates, reviews and approves project deliverables e.g: Design recommendations, High Level Design, Low Level Design, Implementation/Change Management Plans Leverages software skills and tools to configure, deploy and/or troubleshoot Cisco products and solutions. Contributes in the development of digital intellectual capital (e.g: scripts, digital signatures). Acts as a focal point for problem resolution for assigned customer engagements. Assures proper and quick resolution of complex customer problems across an appropriate range of technologies Complexity: Solves highly complex problems and is able to identify viable and often innovative options, and uses analytical skills and judgement to recommend an appropriate solution Expertise: Typically requires BSc Computer Science or equivalent plus 5-8 years of relevant work experience. Advanced degree strongly preferred. Consulting Engineer responsibilities include Project Specific Skills: Required Skills (Must Have and should meet all the below standards for qualifying to this role) Experience with basic networking technology. Experience with LAN Switching, Routing. Experience with at least two Cisco Security products from - ASA, FTD, Firepower, ISE, ESA, WSA, AnyConnect High understanding of NAT, Zoning, VPNs, Identity management. Exceptional communication (written, verbal and presentation) skills Knowledge of perimeter security design principles. Desired Skills (Good to have as value add to this role) Demonstrated abilities to juggle simultaneous work tasks ranging from system/solution integration to complex technical issues dealing with protocols, Access Points and other technical area Experience with Cisco and Third Party network elements, Routers, switches and network management products desired Good knowledge of failover scenarios and high availability. Deep troubleshooting knowledge of ASA/FTD. Configuration/troubleshooting knowledge of ISE policy management, profiling etc. Configuration/troubleshooting knowledge of internet edge security. Solid knowledge on AAA protocols (TACACS+, RADIUS, 802.1x, EAP-TLS, EAP-PEAP & Captive Portals) as well as experience working on BYOD & Guest networks Scripting skills (Perl, shell-scripting, XML, etc.). Education &/ Additional Cortication&rsquos BE/B.Tech/BSC Computer Science or equivalent CCNA is must, CCNP is a plus, CCIE (Security) is preferred.
