POSITION SUMMARY
Purpose
To deliver safe, fit for purpose electrical designs to an agreed schedule to meet a pre agreed budget.
Nature and Scope
The job holder is one of the key members of the design team having responsibility for the electrical engineering and design. Based on the execution strategy the job holder will be either responsible for performing electrical engineering or supervise and review the electrical design generated by engineering contractors.
DIMENSIONS

• 
  Responsible for electrical design for AP projects.
• Responsible for review and approval of corresponding supplier documents
• An Electrical Engineer acts as the technical lead for electrical design on the project and as the technical interface with AP project execution teams. The primary purpose is the delivery of a safe, fit for purpose Electrical design to an agreed schedule and construction budget.
• Providing support to other AP engineering centers as workload requires.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

• 
  Safety and rigorous adherence to relevant specifications and standards for all electrical designs produced and equipment specified.
• Accountable for the safety and engineering scope adherence in accordance with project specifications & standards.
• Implementation of quality procedures and contribute to continuous implementation of improvement activities.
• Electrical scope definition, estimation & forecasting, planning, review / check / approval, document control and review, scope control and other activities necessary for project execution.
• Effectively communicate by email, ppt or \xe2\x80\x98face to face\xe2\x80\x99 AP\xe2\x80\x99s execution strategies, schedule issues and project requirements.
• Support and contribute to AP\xe2\x80\x99s low cost sourcing activities.
• Preparation of specifications for electrical equipment, vendor offer reviews, VDR reviews, conduct inspections etc including MV and LB systems (motors, switchgear, UPS, battery charger, DG sets, Bus Duct etc)
• Accountability for issuing our layout drawings (earthing, power, lighting); work with designers for ensuring layouts are completed and compilation of an electrical construction package.
• Conduct stage and final inspections for electrical equipment to ensure that equipment is manufactured as per AP specs and quality requirements.
• Provide support to construction and commissioning teams during installation and startup of electrical equipment.
• Interface with various stakeholders of project management, procurement, customer, vendors, construction teams etc to resolve all issues pertaining to electrical system on the project.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
An Electrical Engineer should have:

• An Electrical Engineering Degree with 10-12 years of industry experience and preferably corporate membership or professional institute membership
• Excellent written and spoken English and strong communication skills
• Experience comparable with the grade in a relevant industry.
• Must be familiar with an engineering organization, the function of each discipline and how they interact and the function of the various support groups globally.
• Experience to generate and review Single Line Diagrams (SLD), Equipment Specifications, Calculations, Protection Studies and all relevant Electrical deliverables.
• Experience with calculation software such as ETAP and SKM Powertools
• Knowledge and experience of plant layouts and model review meetings
• Experience and knowledge to effectively communicate issues and ideas effectively.
