Liaison with the Design and Manufacturing Engineering Departments to understand requirements for their assemblies or testing and provide a solution to carry out the operations with custom design of Tooling Fixtures, material handling systems & Automation fulfilling Applied Materials Ergonomics standards. Key Performance Indicators:

• Problem identification and troubleshooting a wide range of complex mechanical problems in assembly, testing etc.
• Will be responsible for the design, development and implementation of custom material unit handling system, fixturing, and associated processes to enable the handling, assembly / disassembly of parts, components, sub-assemblies and final assemblies throughout the product life cycle. Establishes standards across all operational processes. Serves as technical expert on specialized projects or programs.
• Technically execute engineering projects by developing it with the AMAT associated suppliers.
• Interface with internal and external customers regarding mechanical issues for specific project.
• Implements concepts for range of difficult product issues and solutions.
• Specify, supervise the development of, design, or modify engineering layouts/schematics and/or detailed drawings/specifications of complex scope.
• Generate product and test specifications.
• Provide mentoring for less experienced engineers.
• Define / Create requirements for the material handling units which includes the architecture/concepts and validation.
• Specify and perform engineering calculations & analysis of complex scope like custom designed parts and OEM selection.
• Define, coordinate, perform, and generate engineering test reports.
• Specify and review engineering documentation.

Knowledge necessary to perform job includes: Thorough knowledge of mechanical engineering design, mechanics, and material science concepts and techniques, including proficiency in solving engineering problems using analytical techniques and engineering knowledge such as thermodynamics, heat transfer, measurement control, stress analysis, Finite Element Analysis, or system integration; general knowledge of electrical engineering disciplines; working knowledge of CAD tools; understanding of product and business requirements; and general knowledge of appropriate materials, components and technologies used in the semiconductor or General equipment industry. Experience:

No of years: Experience of 10-14 years or above in which at least 3-4 years in design and development of Special Purpose Machines, Assembly Line Automation, Medical Product Development, Fixture Design in a development or manufacturing organization.

Specific experience requirement:

• Should have min 2-4 year\xe2\x80\x99s hands on experience in a manufacturing organization.
• 8-10 years in design of commercial parts / SPM assemblies / material handling units / Automations / Medical Devices

Skill sets Required:

• Sound Knowledge on automated fixture Design, Material Selection, Machining and Fabrication process and post processing operations.
• Understand on vacuum products and associated accessories
• Hands on experience in creating specification on mechanisms and choosing right OEMs to compliment the specified mechanism.
• Thorough knowledge in calculations to define structures/loads, choose the right OEM\xe2\x80\x99s and its accessories in the market. Example \xe2\x80\x93 Linear Guides, Casters/wheels, motors, gearbox, bearings, lifting hoist accessories, sensors etc.
• Good knowledge on using sheet metal applications wherever necessary.
• Pro-efficient in creating manufacturing drawings, defining tolerances with GD&T. Certification on GD&T will be added advantage.
• Pro-efficient in UG NX is an added advantage
• Pro-efficient in Structural Analysis \xe2\x80\x93 Hands on Ansys or Nastran is desirable.
• Hands on Manufacturing. Techniques.
• Good hold on Project Management practices
• Good Presentation and Negotiation Skills.
