About the Role

Our Strategic Communications team in India provides our clients with a comprehensive view of strategic communications that leverages our integrated suite of services, including financial communications, corporate reputation, transaction communications and public affairs in all the major markets around the world.

The Strategic Communications segment of FTI Consulting is seeking to hire a Director, to join its India Office (in either Delhi or Mumbai office). The candidate should have a proven ability to advise global clients on strategic communications possess a problem solving and service orientation, drive new business development and collaborate with colleagues across international offices.

We are looking for self-motivated, entrepreneurial and high energy team player, with excellent written and communications skills. Director-level positions typically are between 10-15 years, but this is indicative only and exceptions will be made for exceptional candidates.

The candidate should be a strategic thinker, mature, possess high empathy, results-oriented, and have good people skills. This is important as the role requires providing strategic communications counsel to senior clients' teams and managing team members. Strategic Thinking & Planning

  • Strategic thinking, problem solving and advisory skills to engage effectively with senior management teams
  • Identify opportunities to advise and deliver strategic communications programmes, combining public policy, media and third-party advocacy, to solve critical business problems.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and being open to new professional learning and opportunities
Business Building
  • Actively prospect and market FTI's suite of strategic communications and advisory services, with a problem-solving orientation, to senior management teams. This will include the ability to make effective presentations to small groups and persuade senior business directors. Past business management and development experience will be an advantage.
  • Ability to plan and execute multi-stakeholder, strategic communications on behalf of global corporations and their senior teams, working closely with international offices and colleagues across different time zones. Past experience in planning, executing and managing national communications programmes will be an advantage.
  • A diagnostic mind and keen commercial orientation to appreciate the business strategy, decisions that shape executive actions and commercial implications. Ability to demonstrate numerate skills will be positively considered.
  • Possess a strong service orientation, ability to anticipate client needs and manage client expectations proactively.
Strategic Implementation & Project Management Skills
  • Identify and solve business opportunities; and resolve them effectively with strategic communications techniques and know-how. Past experience, perspectives and know-how in solving complex business problems will be considered positively.
  • Create high quality written materials - plans, documents and presentations - with adequate secondary research input and proactive advisory inputs, in the most time-efficient manner for the team and for clients.
  • Project manage and run multi-stakeholder programmes for clients and internal teams, efficiently and effectively. This will include the ability to monitor and track progress on a weekly basis and create weekly report for internal and external circulation.
High-Performance Teamwork
  • Collaborate proactively with on-site and virtual teams seamlessly, to build and grow the strategic communications business. Develop team members and actively participate in team sessions that help build team competencies in new areas, advocacy capabilities and business growth. High passion about business, team and individual growth.
  • Displaying maturity and managing team/ people dynamics in a manner that helps team cohesion and performance, is an important requirement. Motivating leadership traits and team building skills will be preferred.
