About the Department

Digital Data & IT GBS (Global Business Service) was established in February 2010 as an integral part of Digital Data & IT in HQ (Head Quarter). From the beginning in 2010, the unit has grown to 800+ employees till date. The main role of Global IT GBS (Global Business Service) is to 'manage' IT, which includes System Management, Project Management, Infrastructure Management, Compliance Management, Security Management, Process Management and Vendor Management.

Global Information Security, GBS is an area within Digital Data and IT GBS. Global Information Security, GBS is an integral part of Global Information Security Organisation of Novo Nordisk which is headed by the CISO (Chief Information Security Officer) and consists of two main areas: Global Security Operations (GSO) and Global Information Security Management (GISM). In GIS (Global Information Security) GBS (Global Business service), we work closely with Global Information Security organisation in defining and executing on strategy to support the digital journey of Novo Nordisk by ensuring smooth operations of SOC, Service Management, advisory support, Security Mailbox, and various other Information Security functions.

The Position

The Director of GIS (Global Information Security) GBS (Global Business Service) reports directly to CISO (Chief Information Security Officer) and leads a growing area of approximately 50 employees. Three to four department managers report directly to you. You and your team will work with global counterparts in setting the direction on how Novo Nordisk approaches information security risks broadly at the same time ensuring we stay ahead of the curve in responding to threats on a continuous basis. To succeed in the role, you must therefore have strong leadership competencies and an international mindset as you will be working across geographies and cultures.

Your primary leadership goals will be to:

  • Create & support common objectives and visible successes by building on the diverse competencies of the group.
  • Continuously develop the area and maintain the sense of community and belonging, which is key for our current and future employees.
  • Make sure that we have a culture that enables all employees to succeed, no matter who they are, while staying true to the Novo Nordisk Way.
  • Collaborate closely with the other management members across GIS (Global Information Security) (India, Denmark, and USA).
Your primary business goals will be to:
  • Support in building and executing on the strategy for overall GIS (Global Information Security) by working very closely with other leaders in the Organisation.
  • Ensure smooth operations and delivery and thus keeping Novo Nordisk secure and continuously optimise & automate for enabling effective utilisation of available resources.
  • Work closely with local Management and drive necessary initiatives from information security side.
  • Support & drive various security awareness initiatives for Novo Nordisk globally.
Furthermore, you will ensure effective service management of complete portfolio of security services and thus ensuring strong delivery. You will provide effective information security advisory support to global organisation. You will identify the organisation needs and work with management members to prioritise and execute as required. You will suggest and implement right organisation structure considering the future needs of the organisation. You will also support CISO (Chief Information Security Officer) in effective maintenance and functioning of crisis tools & groups, creating strong partnership with various business units, and thus bringing them closer to security organisation. Additionally, you shall be responsible for people and service budget management, vendor, and stakeholder management at various level.

Qualification
  • Master's degree preferably within an area relevant to the role. Experience of working in Global IT Security and heading a team of functional leaders is a must. You must have handled, worked, and collaborated with different functional heads for driving organizational strategies, delivery excellence & process efficiency.
  • Proven success as a leader in an area of highly experienced specialists preferably information security, ideally in a regulated industry for minimum 10+ years. Experience with leading leaders is preferable.
  • Demonstrate an experience of leading a diverse team of leaders along with a global mindset is welcome.
  • Assertiveness and the ability to collaborate and make progress in a demanding stakeholder environment.
  • Strong experience in working with teams and management present at different Global Locations
  • Ability to collaborate and communicate with external parties (vendors), stakeholders, user community.
  • Strong analytical skills, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translating them into actionable outcomes.
  • Good analytical skills and should be able to grasp existing systems and propose solutions accordingly.
  • Excellent writing, verbal, presentation, communication, and consensus building skills. You have high cultural sensitivity and ability to work across cultures. Above all you have passion for excellence with a concise, precise, and effective approach to problem solving and decision making.
