Job Description

GLG's Compensation Team develops and supports programs and processes that enable GLG to remain competitive in the recruitment and retention of staff at all levels of the organization while maintaining company's budgetary priorities. We are responsible for implementing GLG's compensation philosophy and programs for all employees, including establishing a competitive, equitable market-based salary structure, starting salaries as well as standards for promotional increases, annual incentive awards, quarterly/monthly sales incentive programs and other salary adjustments; and crafting and implementing annual base salary increases and award programs. We work closely with business leaders and their teams as well as with our colleagues in People Team to ensure that our pay practices are fair, equitable, and lawful.

Job Summary

Director, Global Compensation will be based out of GLG Gurugram office and will manage the groups compensation programs and ensure they are aligned to the market and support the company's talent strategy. This is a results-oriented leader who has a strong executive presence, relationship management and influencing skills, with a proven ability to adapt to satisfy the changing needs of the business. The key differentiator will be the ability to understand and operate in a complex, fast-moving environment and will require a strong sense of urgency and responsiveness.

Specific responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

Compensation

  • Experience working in small to mid-size complex, dynamic organizations with multiple business groups and broad geographic reach and the ability and tolerance to work in an ambiguous environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills are required as this role will be with senior leaders, and corporate executives.
  • This role will be the Compensation partner for APAC & EMEA
  • Provide leadership and proactive compensation support on a variety of matters including but not limited to executive offers and leveling, organization restructurings, YE and year-round compensation planning and specialized Global Compensation Projects.
  • In partnership with business leaders, HR Business Partners & other global Compensation team members, manage and deploy compensation solutions that are linked to GLG's overall Talent strategy.
  • Provide proactive & strategic business support - understanding key business challenges and opportunities and proactively providing solutions to better enable businesses to achieve their growth objectives.
  • Educate HR and Business Leaders on Compensation programs and build capabilities in the business.
  • Lead change management - focused on the HR community, leadership, and employee communications strategies of our compensation policies and programs.
  • Utilize data, analytics, and internal / external insights to develop Compensation solutions that help drive business results.
  • Participate in compensation surveys and analyze results to assess competitiveness of total compensation and market trends
  • Partner with the HR Business Partners and Finance to support the execution of the monthly accrual and quarterly forecasting processes
An ideal candidate will have the following:
  • 12+ years HR experience, preferably in a specialist function
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Prior experience with compensation analytics, implementation of systems/plans in accordance with annual and mid-year cycles
  • Strong analytical acumen and unyielding attention to detail to ensure accuracy
  • Excellent systems skills, specifically Excel skills that enable manipulation of large data sets
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work with a variety of people/groups, internally and externally
  • Ability to work in a team environment, handle multiple tasks simultaneously, adapt quickly to changes and the discipline to complete last minute requests as needed
  • Ability to be a self-starter and work independently and the initiative to handle increasing responsibility over time
  • Ability to follow through with open issues until resolved
  • Excellent judgment is required to handle sensitive and confidential information
  • Knowledge of Workday or GreenHouse systems are a plus
