Cloud Operations Manager:

Extreme\'s cloud operations team is a group of talented engineers passionate about building highly reliable, scalable, and secure solutions in public / private cloud environments. We are looking to hire a heads-on and results-oriented technical manager with extensive experience in securing and managing cloud services at scale and handling cloud service escalation issues in production. Experience: 12-17 Years

Responsibilities:

  • Mentor a team of highly technical DevOps Engineers and Database Administrators, and manage performance through individual development plans
  • Document, maintain and monitor daily operations of infrastructure technology, analyzing work, developing standards, setting deadlines, and following up on execution.
  • Continuously improve deployment automation, while optimizing cost and availability.
  • Plan and execute the provisioning, deployment, maintenance, and operation of all Extreme cloud services
  • Develop tools and processes to manage the health of Extreme cloud services
  • Monitor service performance and provide performance statistics and reports
  • Collaborate closely with the GTAC team and other departments, to ensure timely notification and escalation of possible issues/problems, root causes options, and recommendations for resolution.
  • Support the on-call team around the clock in responding to cloud incidents
  • Motivate team and create a strong culture of engineering excellence
  • Hire and develop new talents
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor\'s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7+ years of experience as a Cloud Operations engineer or DevOps engineer, or equivalent technical experience
  • 3+ years of experience in a technical leadership role (eg manager, team lead, architect)
  • Proven ability to collaborate with support and escalation team to prioritize escalated cloud issues, drive for root cause analysis, set expectations, and drive for resolution
  • Expertise in Kubernetes and extensive experience working with cloud operations, infrastructure, and architecture
  • Extensive experience in deployment automation, service monitoring, and CI/CD process
  • Experienced on how to design application and infrastructure for observability, reliability, scalability, and security
  • Good networking and experience with SQL and NoSQL DB
  • Track record of providing 24* 7 cloud service support
  • Excellent organizational, communication (both verbal and written), and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in software development and building highly available microservices at scale.
  • Experience in cloud incident management and handling escalation issues
  • Experience of working with global teams
