About the Business Unit

Marketing & Business Shared Services team contributes to broad spectrum which stretches from creating marketing collaterals, deploying digital campaigns & managing Author Helpdesk. Our in-house developed data driven analytics enables us to calculate print run of a book, finalizing price of SpringerNature Books and developing market intelligence reports.

Short Summary of the Division

Marketing Operations creates on- and offline marketing materials for products and services from Springer Nature. Our division comprises multiple teams who collaborate globally to develop multi-channel creatives and campaigns, working with our internal marketing teams. We work in a complex environment, with a strong focus on creating engaging, effective solutions delivered via efficient working practices.

Purpose of the Role

• Design of global Springer Nature marketing materials and design assets, on- and offline
• Working in the Marketing Design Team (Bespoke Content Creation), part of Marketing Design & Content Creation, within Marketing Operations

Responsibilities

• Design of marketing materials in liaison with the Marketing Department and teams within Marketing Operations. Acting as a brand guardian to ensure consistency across materials, providing advice and explanation to marketing colleagues as necessary
• Working with the Senior Designer to develop and create new concepts, imagery, layouts and branding. Design of individual bespoke materials and campaigns (in line with brand guidelines). Development and creation of design assets for use at scale (high volume marketing). Taking the lead on projects where appropriate
• Scheduling of own diary to ensure punctual delivery
• Liaising with workflow teams and immediate team members to ensure correct workflow and archiving processes are followed
• Preparing graphics for online/screen use and supplying to relevant teams
• Preparing print-ready artwork and liaising with print coordinators to ensure best quality and price
• Providing assistance and cover within Marketing Design & Content Creation as required

Experience:

• Experience as a Marketing Designer
• Experience of creating online materials and meeting specifications
• Experience of sending files to press and meeting specifications

Skills/Knowledge:

• Strong user of Adobe Creative Cloud
• Strong creative skills
• Problem-solving skills
• Attention to detail
• Confident IT user
• Sound knowledge of the creation of online materials and pre-press
• Time management and organizational skills - Ability to multi-task and work to a deadline
• Strong team worker, with the ability to work independently
• Excellent English communication skills - written and verbal
