Department Description

The Research Solutions SBU is focused on innovating the foundation of FactSet\xe2\x80\x99s product offering. By marrying robust content, intuitive applications, and innovative technology, we defend and grow our footprint across several key user classes including investment banking, sell-side research, buy-side research, private equity, portfolio managers, traders, capital markets, investor relations, and media. This SBU contains Core Applications (Universal Screening, Company & Security Analytics, Industry and Markets, Filings, Ownership, Research, News, Charting) and our industry leading RMS suite. The SBU closely partners with the Content and Platform Horizontals on strategy for FactSet Web, Mobile, and much of FactSet\xe2\x80\x99s content offering.

CoreWebApps \xe2\x80\x93 Deep Sector is a core team focused on building Research Core Web Applications and Frameworks. The team works on multiple front-end frameworks and support in-house custom web framework. FactSet is looking for a talented software engineer to join Research Solutions and participate as a contributing member to the CoreWebApps \xe2\x80\x93 Deep Sector team. This team member will play a critical role in accelerating time-to-market on key SBU strategies by partnering with our product specialist teams and clients to understand and assist with their needs.

Projects worked on by the CoreWebApps \xe2\x80\x93 Deep Sector team:

• 
  Build and Support our in-house Web Application Frameworks powering 100\xe2\x80\x99s of SPA.
• 
  FactSet\xe2\x80\x99s unique mapping solutions using ESRI/ArcGIS.
• 
  Contribute to Components, Grids (tables), and Charting Technology.

Responsibilities: In this role you will:

• 
  Lead the engineering Design, Development, and Release of our Client Facing Components.
• 
  Keep up to date and act as a leader on Typescript, Vue.js, Angular.js, and their related ecosystems
• 
  Be ready to learn a lot from using frameworks to building one.
• 
  Strategically explore open-source opportunities to improve our workflows.
• 
  Collaborate with multiple teams and clients to build the next generation FactSet Web.
• 
  Foster awareness of the UI Standards team processes, tools, and roadmap within Research
• 
  Collaborate with Research stakeholders to understand and prioritize their needs
• 
  Mentor and coach other members of the team

Required Skills:

• 
  B.Tech or M.Tech in Computer Science, or equivalent experience
• 
  5+ years of experience working professionally as a Software Developer building web application
• 
  Professional Experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript.
• 
  Experience using JavaScript, ES6, TypeScript and a modern web framework such as Vue or React
• 
  Deeply understand complex systems and have an aptitude to learn.

Highly Desired Skills:

• 
  Experience with TypeScript, Vue.js, Angular.js, AWS and Building UI components.
• 
  Experience in responsive web design and building responsive web sites
• 
  Knowledge of building API\xe2\x80\x99s and Data Visualizations.
• 
  Experience with Scrum, Kanban or Agile software development in general
• 
  Experience working with or contributing to open source
• 
  Experience working with remote teams
• 
  Ability to articulate and quickly adopt development best practices
• 
  Proficiency with Object Oriented design principles and working knowledge of Linux OS
• 
  Ability to work as part of a geographically diverse team
• 
  Ability to communicate with both technical and non-technical people
