Department Name : Research Engineering

PROCESS BRIEF:
Research Engineering is responsible for FactSet\xe2\x80\x99s breed & industry leading Market Data, deep-dive Reporting and Research management products highlighting FactSet\xe2\x80\x99s proprietary content to the global financial community. These products are used by thousands of Asset Managers, Investment Bankers and Corporate clients around the world every day to assist with investment decisions, market monitoring, company and economic analysis and sharing of buy/sell decisions and the presentation of results. Research Engineering\xe2\x80\x99s product space represents a high growth opportunity for FactSet\xe2\x80\x99s workstation count.

SUB-PROCESS BRIEF:
Deep Sector is a core team focused on building Research Core Web Applications and Frameworks. The team works on multiple front-end frameworks and support in-house custom web framework. FactSet is looking for a talented software engineer to join Research Solutions and participate as a contributing member to the CoreWebApps \xe2\x80\x93 Deep Sector team. This team member will play a critical role in accelerating time-to-market on key SBU strategies by partnering with our product specialist teams and clients to understand and assist with their needs.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• 
  Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable code.
• Proactively suggest improvements to applications and processes that enhance the client experience or improve performance
• Ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.
• Work with Product Development team to understand project requirements and work with other Engineers on the technical design of those solutions
• Collaborate with internal teams to produce software design and architecture
• Provide periodic project status updates to team lead/remote manager
• Serve as an expert on applications and provide technical support

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• 
  2-4 years of industry experience
• Professional Experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript is required
• Experience with JavaScript-based MVC frameworks, especially AngularJS /VueJs/ similar framework is required
• Knowledge of RESTful services, especially NodeJS is required
• Experience in TypeScript , Git and unit tests is required
• Proficiency with Object Oriented design principles and working knowledge of Linux OS
• Ability to articulate and quickly adopt development best practices
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• Willingness to work as a member of a team, including participating in peer code reviews and maintaining project and operational documentation
• Ability to work as part of a geographically diverse team
• Ability to communicate with both technical and non-technical people
• B.Tech or M.Tech in Computer Science or equivalent
