Job Description


Role : Product Support - L2 Position: Database Support Engineer Location: Bangalore Function: Customer Support (Internal) Experience : 6 years (Preferred) : 1. Possess Expert skills in MySQL database administration on both Windows and Linux platforms. 2. Strong in troubleshooting SQL Queries, procedures, functions, triggers, events and fine-tuning them. 3. Troubleshoot MySQL connection issues and manage MySQL performance. 4. Good knowledge of shell/batch file scripting. 5. Install & configure various versions/flavors of MySQL versions, manage them (on both Windows & Linux platforms) and manage MySQL User authentication & authorization by granting and revoking the required privileges. 6. Database security, software upgrade/patching. 7. Troubleshoot and suggest the fix for MySQL Vulnerabilities. 8. Manage and Interpret MySQL Log Files, backup logs, Backing Up databases, Copying, and Recover the tables/databases when they are corrupted/crashed. 9. Manage MySQL cluster Configuration and manage MySQL replication and recover whenever there is a replication failure. 10. Knowledge of Disaster Recovery (DR) and High availability (HA) setups involving MySQL. Open for candidates from PAN INDIA Yes, but should be ready to report and work from office. Experience and Skills: 1. 6 to 8 years of experience in the product support domain involving MySQL as a database. 2. Ability to quickly understand the reported issue and suggest a quick solution/workaround. 3. Good logical reasoning skills and ability to be flexible on working hours. 4. Refer to the \'Technology skills\' in the above table. Roles and Responsibilities: 1. Candidate will be working with the Expert Centre team (L2 product support team) to support customers on database issues. 2. Should work independently on the incidents related to MySQL database by using the skillsets mentioned in the \'Technology Skills\' section. 3. Should be coordinating with L3/Engineering team(s) in terms of incident delegation/identifying or suggesting a solution to the incident involving code fix. 4. Internally work with L2 team members and help them on the aspects involving database expertise and, in the process, train them on a need basis. 5. Should be available as standby support to customer-facing teams for planned activities like Patch upgrades, post-patch upgrade support, and for any critical/showstopper incidents involving database. This can be beyond business hours/during the weekends. 6. Suggest/assist engineering teams on the product improvement, and if need be, work with them/guide on product\'s database improvements in terms of additional features/fine-tuning the issues.
