Introduction: Design and Development of ETL solutions for BUK Shared Technology work in Information Management using Ab-Initio Technologies . Development & Testing of complex ETL components using Ab-Initio . E2E Ab-Initio Batch ETL Applications Implementation . Effective integration with upstream and downstream processes and systems . Good understanding of Data modelling and Application Life Cycle control process . E2E ownership of ETL developed application . Ability to provide technical help to team members and participate and contribute to relevant technical standards . Ability to learn quickly other technology like Python, Spark, Scala and other Cloud Tech skills etc. What will you be doing . Work in collaboration with infrastructure and IT team to design, create and maintain optimal data pipeline architecture and data structures for data lake/data warehouse . Build the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from variety of data sources using Ab-Initio ETL Technologies . Work with stakeholders including the executives, Product, Data and Design teams to assist with data related technical issues and support their data analytical needs . Streamline existing and introduce enhanced reporting and analysis solutions that leverage complex data sources derived from complex multiple internal systems . Adhere to good code practice within an agile environment with DevOps approach to development and implementation . Contribute broadly to data engineering development work . Provide database design, development and implementation support . Develop Data Ingest Techniques from multiple data sources . Develop Training Materials and provide training to internal IT and business users . Learn new tools and expand big data functionalities by implementing additional Hadoop and Spark ecosystem components to meet evolving business needs . Research emerging development technologies, products and processes . Responsible for creating work estimate, technical projects plans and implementation plan . Conceptualize and quickly build POC for new product ideas - should perform well as an individual contributor and work with other data engineers and team members . Lead and champion key activities to enhance the wider Technology team culture such as but not limited to: Citizenship, Knowledge, Process & Tools, Resource Assignment Management, Recruitment & Onboarding, Professional Development, Culture, and Unified PM. Leading Others . Responsible for co-ordinating, participating in, and is responsible for, the work of a team of managed services/ contractors on a need basis. . Making effective use of resources during the various stages of the work, ensuring that business objectives are met and deliverables achieved to agreed time, and quality . Providing advice, guidance and assistance to less experienced colleagues (as required). . Putting in place mechanisms and procedures for the structured review of work produced and ensuring that these are adhered to. . Establishing and maintaining agreed standards applicable to the work undertaken and ensuring that these, and other mandatory standards and architectures, are adhered to. Capability Growth . Building and maintaining an expert understanding of the various stages of software development, enhancements, and support (where required). . Providing guidance and assistance to colleagues in any aspect of programme design, creation, testing and documentation. . Interfacing with other teams, sharing technical knowledge and expertise and resolving issues as necessary. Acting as a point of reference for both internal and external technical queries. Organizational Improvement . Assisting with the implementation of operational objectives for relevant team/programme. . Supporting the implementation of strategy and policy issues by involvement in development/change and/or advice to other technical areas and making recommendations to improve procedures and working practices. . Taking part in evaluations and reviews of programming methods, tools and standards. What we\'re looking for: . Expertise in Ab-Initio (Batch) & ETL Design /Solution skills along with performance enhancement knowledge . Expertise in SQL and Data Analysis . Strong knowledge of data and analytics, such as dimension modelling, ETL (Ab-Initio), reporting tools, data governance, data warehousing, structured and unstructured data. . Passionate about Agile Software processes, data-driven development, reliability and experimentation . Experience developing and maintaining data warehouse in big data solutions using Ab-Initio Technologies . Experience with batch and real time data processing tools and technologies (i.e. Kafka, Spark, Cloud data streaming tools) Skills that will help you in the role: . B.E./B. Tech in Computer Science, Engineering or related degrees . Work experience with R, Python, Scala and Pandas or similar programming knowledge is plus . Experience with relational database such as Oracle, SQL Server, Teradata . Big data knowledge including Hive, Impala, HDFS, Scala .
