Role Descriptor DHL Express is looking for a Customs Broker to join and lead our team. He/she will be responsible to Facilitate Customs Clearance of shipments in the DHL net. Ensure that the lodging, classifying and compiling of entries (through the use of ECE and X-Simple ) is completed in a timely and accurate manner for inbound, in compliance with Customs regulations Role Details

Scope of role Relevant dimension: Authority Levels-

• Sign Customs Entries.
• Can pay duty/tax as per relevant Financial Authority Levels Policy.
• Unrestricted phone use for business purposes, both Local and Interstate.

Key Responsibilities He/she will have to perform the following key activities:

• Portray a professional, courteous and helpful attitude in all dealings with internal and external customers.
• Provide DHL finance department with guidelines in relation to the payment and collection of duties and taxes
• Assist other departments with technical advice or presentations as required
• Liaise with Customs to resolve disputes / claims / queries.
• Ensure that entries are cleared in accordance with Customs compliance agreements
• Prioritize the clearance flow in order to achieve fastest transit time possible
• Maximize pre-clearances opportunity in accordance with established service guidelines.
• Ensure clearance authority held, and clearance is completed in accordance with the owner’s instructions
• Ensure that correct Lodgment declarations are made on behalf of customers, whilst satisfying the legislation set by customs, VAT laws and other regulatory agencies.
• Ensure accurate and up to date information is held on the customer database
• Help maintain a clean and safe working environment
• Incumbent has no direct reports and authority over country line and functional personnel.
• He/She should have Informal influence to enable improvement and change within the organization.

Skills Required

• Software skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
• Communication skills (English), spoken and written.

Profile Requirements (Experience/Certifications/Qualifications/Licenses)

• Experience in customs clearance and International freight environments.
• Customs Broker license.
