We are seeking copy editors to support our research teams based in New Delhi. The copy editor will ensure that content follows guidelines and is easy to read. The editor will also conduct content edits in support of the team's strategy. As an IT research organization, we seek someone with a general understanding of information technology and general business terminology.

As Avasant is a global company, the candidate must have knowledge and experience copy editing in multiple forms of English including American and UK rules of grammar and style. The ideal candidate will have experience working for American companies in publishing, education, textbooks, technology, or research. Familiarity with the Chicago Manual of Style is a plus.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Proofread text and correct spelling, grammar, and punctuation errors
• Verify factual correctness of information, such as dates and statistics
• Check text for style, readability, and adherence to our editorial style guide
• Rewrite text to improve clarity and readability

• Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Journalism, Creative Writing, or a related field
• Minimum two years' experience in content/copy editing, preferably for publication
• Strong writing and editing skills
• Ability to work on multiple projects at once, set priorities, work independently, and work as part of a team that often must meet short deadlines
• Highly proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

• Ability to work independently with little oversight and a positive attitude
