In this role you would ensure all responsibilities of being a trusted controls advisors are met, end-to-end ownership of the Strategy & Development Controls assessment and validation process, leading reviews of the Controls landscape to identify risk exposures, connecting with partners to ensure the appropriate controls are being applied, communicating effecting across all levels, all while delivering strong business results for effective controls pertaining to strategic deal activity.
Job Responsibilities:
You would be leading the controls environment for all strategic deal activity facilitated by the Strategy & Development, including building a control environment that is consistent with firmwide policies and standards.
Coordinating quarterly Business Control Committee reporting on integration status for acquired deals and strategic investments
You\'ll be partnering across Lines of Business (LOBs) and their controls teams to ensure coordinated and well-designed M&A governance and oversight of the end-to-end control environment.
Supporting discussions with regulators, audit teams, compliance and risk ranging from one-off meetings to more formal presentations in Business Control Committees
You need to Drive the strategic vision for the AWM Strategy & Development Controls team in collaboration with applicable stakeholders, leadership, and peers.
Leading risk-based control reviews to identify areas of risk exposure and application/evaluation of appropriate controls.
Managing Strategy & Development issues and actions plans, tracking milestones, validating artifacts to ensure appropriate actions are taken.
Coordinating internal / external audits, regulatory exams, and compliance reviews end-to-end while communicating all relevant information to leadership in a timely fashion.
Actively participating in relevant meetings, committees, forums, and engagements across our controls landscape.
Perpetually learning and growing from the M&A landscape, applicable fiduciary responsibilities, best practices, history, and knowledge-sharing.
Managing dependencies on other teams to ensure a seamless support and healthy partnerships
Oversight, reporting, and appropriate escalation of data issues.
Interacting with all levels of management to review, understand, document, and clearly communicate business priorities, risks, controls, constraints, issues and objectives.

Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor\'s degree or equivalent in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Accounting or related field
10+ years of relevant experience in finance, banking, asset management or related field
Highly entrepreneurial mindset with commercial balance of controls
Knowledge of banking processes, regulations and associated risks
Proactive control and risk management mindset; ability to articulate control gaps and escalating issues to senior management
Ability to successfully influence many different groups to deliver high quality and timely deliverables
Consultative in approach, understanding and anticipating business partner needs and proactively delivering solutions
Critical thinker, proactively seeks out best practices
Strong communication and organizational skills
Ability to work collaboratively across control disciplines
Experience with regulators and M&A, a plus
